nestle unlock million, very upset

I'm very upset. About 6 weeks ago, I received notification that I was the potential winner in the Nestle Unlock the Million sweeps, of $ 1,000.00. I returned the notarized affadavit immediately, which of course included my private ss #. for tax purposes.

Today I received in the mail, a letter from them, stating they had made an error, and I only won $ 50.00, which they would send me in an additional 4 weeks.
I have since already budgeted Christmas around this. In the original letter received, I was told the $ 1,000.00 would arrive 6 to 8 weeks after affadavit was received. That was 6 weeks ago, and am now told I have to wait an additional 4 weeks, to get only $ 50.00.

Any thoughts or advice??

No advice {didn't win} but looks like this also happened to bigmamma020271

:error: So sorry to hear this. I feel your disappointment. I would let them know how disappointed they have made you. The letter you received did say that you were a POTENTIAL winner. No prize is a guarantee until you receive it. Again I am so sorry that this happened to you.

I won the 50 dollars in the same sweepstakes and never got it. I posted a message on butterfingers facebook they e mail me and I answered, haven't heard anything since. Just a note they took down my comment on facebook and It wasn't nasty just saying never got it and was mad at them but still love butterfingers another person also hadn't received their 50 on same facebook page

I have had eight false wins in the 13 years that I have been online sweeping. They all have disclaimers in the rules to protect themselves from any kind of errors that can arise during a sweepstakes. Given that these are all computer-generated, there isn't anything to make them 100% foolproof. So, these things do happen from time to time.

My rule of thumb is "you haven't won anything until it is actually in your hands".

Unfortunately, this is just one of the pitfalls of being a sweeper.

I as well received the same letter of course it came "certified" so had to sign for it, thought it was the check but alas it wasn't. But i didn't spend what i didn't have so i guess none the worse for wear, however am disappointed with whomever they have doing there sweeps, that many people shouldn't have gotten the affidivats if they didn't win. I just hope they destroy my social security number that was on form i returned. Here's to better outcomes in the future, GL e1. Just keep sweeping, just keep sweeping, and don't let the disapointments keep you from it.

There should be some kind of sweepstakes "police"
We invest a lot of time entering.
I bet if someone set up a complaint web page
sponsers would take notice.

I'm afraid if that were to happen the sponsored would stop providing us with sweepstakes.

That would also mean that someone has to develop a computer system that never ever screws up, make mistakes, or has anything ever go wrong with it.

If they ever make a computer like that, I want one of those!

lol - be careful what you wish for :)

Besides, looks like we already have some self appointed "sweepstakes police" :nono:

Did you notice the BK sweeps "evolved" so you couldn't C&P your addy & it requires a captcha for all 6 codes? Thank those who assumed cheating & complained.

In fact, that's how we got those HATED captchas - thanks to those who assumed cheating & complained.

The sponsor(s)/JA's have to {by law} adhere to the rules, and they will *usually* have a 2nd chance to award prizes that are won fraudulently - it's how I won my laptop btw

Sweepers who assume cheating & complain just make it more expensive & difficult for sponsor(s)/JA's & we end up with fewer sweeps - anyone besides me miss the goodies like the DELF?

I have always wondered how people seem to know that other people are cheating--psychic?!

Also, if one wants sweepstakes to be 100% error-free without any glitches maybe someone should develop the first computer that operates 100% perfectly without ever, ever having any problems. Imagine how much money a person could make off of that invention! I would be first in line to buy one! I think humans should be error-free too!
