Not Winning

Hey Guys,

I have been entering sweeps for about 3-4 weeks now and I am yet to win anything. I enter one time only sweeps, do you guys think I will eventually win? I am pretty new any tips will help!

Thanks!

Hi don't give up! I started sweeping last August for a big sweep with Bed Bath and Beyond but didn't win. Later, I saw the show on TLC about sweepers and started sweeping everyday afterwards. My first win was an instant win a year supply of fruit snacks and I won that one on the second week of sweeping. I have won very small prizes the highest value prize a pair of New Balance Tennis shoes and a Chicago Bears Devin Hester jersey. I'm still waiting for my big trip win or a new car and of course cash. I have never won with a one entry only sweep yet. But almost always win something every week or every 2 weeks with the instant wins. The instant wins keep me going for now. I know the big first place sweep winner is coming soon. Don't give up sweeping just yet. It's fun for me! But also exciting to think I might win is a big rush for me. Happy sweeping!

If you're sticking to a single category, branch out and try some of the others. Instants are popular because you can find out if you're a winner right away.

Cast your net wide, but be selective (I know, that sounds contradictory). You may be focussing on the big stuff, but don't overlook the small stuff. A book or a DVD isn't going to pay your bills, but its still something that may show up in the mail instead of one. The little stuff adds up.

Make sure you're not just checking your inbox, but also checking your spam folder for winning notifications (some of the same things that flag an email as spam are frequent traits of winners... comes from an individual you don't know, has an attachment, etc.)

Unless you're only entering the stuff that's about to expire, a lot of the sweeps you've already entered won't be done for weeks or months, and even once they end, sponsors like to take their time notifying winners, drawing second chance winners if the first round of notifications flopped, "handling" the prizes, and shipping the prizes. It could be anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months after a sweep ends before the actual prize shows up. This is a patience game.

Some sponsors don't notify, you may have already won and won't know it til something shows up in the mail.

You'll probably won't get any winning notifications this early. Sometimes it takes as long as three months for an email or call. If you want to start winning prizes right away I would enter several different types of sweeps. A good place to start is instant win games and blogs. I won alot early on with these two types of contests. Just avoid the Thirfty and Frugal Living Blog (you can read more about my experience with that blog's giveaways on this forum). I'd continue to enter the one-entry sweeps as well. Another good bet is to enter sweeps with less competition. These sweeps are usually local to your state. Finally, only enter the sweeps with prizes that you geniunely are interested in winning. Otherwise, you'll end up with all of junk and wasted time.

I agree 100% about "only enter the sweeps with prizes that you geniunely are interested in winning" reason: TAXES ..
If is is a huge prize you finally win and can't even put it to use.. to me it is a LOSE / FAIL situation.

I often find myself debating in my mind the prizes over $600 if it would even be of satisfaction , reason: TAXES..

I find myself avoiding sweeps with certain travel destinations now too ..
(I will NOT enter anything to do with Mexico - after hearing about headless people) bad rep now.
my luck that would be what I win... won't touch it with 10 foot pole.

Enjoy this as a hobby and as Amy says, Enter and forget it.. .. the surprise of finding something in your mailbox will come.
