What's the difference between bronze, silver and gold members and how does one get from one level to the next?

new members have 1 star, bronze have 2 after 10 posts , silver 3 after 100 posts and gold have 4 stars after 1000 posts

Silver members sparkle? heehee I think it is how much you post...but I could be off the mark since I have not really thought about what else it might be. Not sure longevity has anything to do with it. ???
