Reasons one should not watch tv this late

While I am keeping an eye on the weather, I am watching TV while doing my sweeps. People shouldn't watch TV this late why? Because, they watch infomercials and want everything they see!!

I have wanted a magic bullet (not that, get your mind out of the gutter) for a long time now and just watched the infomercial again. I want the machine even more now.

Our last storm prompted me to now want the nu wave oven. :nono:

There should be a disclaimer not to watch television so late at night. I really should be in bed, very tired but, I want to watch the storm info.

Any infomercials ever get to you? Thank goodness King of the hill is now on, lol.

That dang Split Ender got to me!!!

I didn't order it, but when my mom & I were at Walgreens (I think - maybe CVS) anyway, she owed me money but bought that for me instead - boy, was I ticked she did that!!! :cussing:

To make matters worse, dang thing didn't work, so I had to exchange it. I got that one to "work" but since it did NOT do what it was supposed to, it was a total rip off!!! :nono:

So whenever I catch an infomercial, I remember that experience and don't even want what they are peddling, lmao!!!

One good thing is I have never ordered off of an infomercial, I have purchased items in the store when they came out but, I don't remember what except for those pots and pans with the holes on the lids. Remember those? That was a terrible product, I burned myself several times trying to use them and the handles broke off soon after purchase. Some of these products make things look so easy! As they say though "If it looks to good to be true chances are it is".

We don't watch much television anyway. The quality of programming just isn't as good as it used to be--mostly garbage now. I fall asleep on the couch and wake up to them sometimes during the night. I can't stand them. Is it any wonder that Saturday Night Live has done skits on them! Not to mention, the people in them act so corny. I think they are embarrassing to the people in them.

However, I did see Kohls.com have the "Magic Bullet" on sale. I had a 30% off coupon code and did buy it at a really good price. We literally use the thing everday. We love it! :headbang:

miki I bought a magic bullet knock off from wal mart one time and I do like it because I make protein shakes with it.

I paid $20 and it has all the same things the magic bullet has.

I've always wondered about those mat thingys that absorb 10x the water that a normal sponge or paper towel could absorb. It comes in a roll and you can cut it for whatever you want to use it for e.g. bath mat, car cloth, spills cloth, etc.

I've wanted a rotisserie for as long as I can remember. I think it's called "Set-it-and-forget-it."

We got some of those at Opry Mills at Nashville a few years ago and they do work very well...I just forget that we have them  I never use them anymore...I will have to go and find them now!!

Kentucky Rain Keeps Pouring Down. And up ahead's another town that I'll go walking through...with the rain in my shoes...searching for you!!!!!!!!!!

My dad used to force me to listen to that man for hours on end! :cussing:

I don't have to be forced...I love Elvis...he will be played at my funeral :sunny: Swing Down Chariot...not Swing Low Chariot ~ there is a difference :crazytongue: We found out during my Mom's funeral when this up-tempo song came on...after hearing that the words were actually okay we started giggling and it is one of our favorite songs now. It was played at my sister, Pam's, funeral ~ and will be played at the rest of ours :)

Aww! That's a nice a nice family sentiment

In the ghetto was the one Elvis song I used to love to listen to when I was a little girl. It'd make me cry.

Guess I should have put this in the "I'm embarrassed to admit" thread

Now you are all making me want the magic bullet even more, lol.

I think Elvis was played at my grandmothers funeral or an inlaws funeral, can't remember which. Can you believe that my grandmother insisted Mambo #5 to be played at hers? It was too, lol.

So far I have 2 songs I want played at my funeral. My,my,my by Rob Thomas and Leave out all the rest by Linkin Park. You might find me strange but, my funeral plans are already started on myspace in my blogs.

I've already got mine started also...after losing my Momma one year and then my sister the next I figured I better get started thinking about it! I don't want to have to put my family though what we went through with Pam...trying to figure out what she wanted. We knew to some degree, but there were some questions and I don't want and questions ~ plus, I don't trust Jimmie when it comes to decisions like that  He would have some weird crap playing that I hadn't ever heard before and have me in some ugly smock and I would have to come back and haunt his butt

OMG, Miki! Bless your granny's heart LOL That is utterly sweet!! My oldest LOVED that song when he was a wee thing.

Ping  Mine would put me in a slutty dress with stilletos :cussing: He'd get the music right but everyone would be creeped out

Big hugs to you guys  My granny passed right before my youngest was born in 2001. I think about her often. My youngest will ask about her now and then and it makes me smile.

Yeah, Mambo #5 is different, but it would have to bring a smile to your face! I think I am going to have them plug in my Ipod Shuffle for the viewing...that will be different, you will never know what is coming up ~ Barry Manilow followed by Def Leppard followed by Dwight Yoakum

There are two funeral homes in this part of the county Momma was at one and Pam was at the other...I want to be at the one Pam was at...because the bathrooms work. Not for me, obviously, but for anyone that may come...the people that own the other will not update anything in the place. It is just sad. How can you not fix toilets??? The family is there for HOURS :nono: It makes a bad situtation even worse!!

creepy. I dont think I have thought about music at my funeral. I guess I thought they would just cremate me and go home
.

Ugh. They should be ashamed. Toilets not working. WTH!

Funny about the ipod. They won't know whether to cry or laugh their butts off.

I haven't either. If I was to die today, I'd assume hubby would play who I liked like Rob Zombie and Disturbed. That would be disturbing to family

I have a weird thing about being cremated or buried for that matter. My dad worked in funeral homes when I was little. I've developed a fear that I wouldn't be completely dead if they were to cremate me or bury me. I'd either be burned alive or buried alive. Creeps me out just typing it. I like the idea of a mausoleum. At least I have a chance of makiing it out of that hellhole

My sister is wanting a closed casket...says she can't stand the thought of people staring at her after she is dead...she is just going to be worried what her hair and make-up looks like  I know her to well!!

I think I want my funeral to be "by invitation only" I've decided that there are some people that I just don't want coming  If you can't treat me nice when I'm alive don't come and try to suck up to my family after I am gone!!

Here here! On everything!

Gotta make sure the face is painted and the "do" is tight

And I don't want people coming to my funeral who didn't like me when I was alive, trying to "console" hubby. Let him grieve

My husband will be throwing a toga party that night...everyone will be invited  The guilt won't set in for awhile...

I have this one "friend" that I would just love not to come...she is a busybody...I have told my sister that if she shows up to belt her for me :headbang: All she does is talk about us behind our back...even telling people that my sister, Pam, committed suicide :cussing: Needless to say, I don't have a lot to say to her. Her kids and mine are the same age so when we have things at school I always run into her...when I had rather run over her

We went from late night TV to funerals

My oldest daughter dated a guy in high school and they broke up but remained close friends. They told each other what songs they wanted played at their funerals and a couple years later he was murdered.

It was so sad and even though my daughter was not dating him she told his family about the song he wanted playing at the funeral and they played it.

I saw his mom a couple months ago and she told me Michael really loved Leah. Naturally I lost it. They still do not know who killed him. He was only 26 and truly loved and missed.
