Researchers warn of new Java exploit being used by attackers

Do you know if Java is now okay to download, I cannot find any valid updated information. I've been having computer issues and Dell keeps telling me to download Java, which I am hesitant to do.

I've had it on for a week or so in both IE & FF & no issues!
