I have a rather blunt question: Has anyone had any issues with their credit card information or their banking information being stolen after entering online sweepstakes? I ask because so much personal information is required to enter these sweeps, and there is no guarantee that these forms are not someone else's bogus postings. I love sweeping, but I get very worried about security breaches. Thanks!!

Just a quick clarification: By personal info, I mean address and phone number.

I've been sweeping since the 1970's and never had a problem. Mom has been sweeping since the 50's.
As lee said, a legit sweep should not be asking for your credit card info, your social security number or anything like that. Now the affy is another matter, but a simple check to find that the affy in hand is from a sweep you entered should help.

I have not had any issues in about 2 1/2 years of sweeping. However I am always carefull to not enter suspicious looking contests. I also pay about $100 a year for identity theft insurance from Lifelock. They will pay up to a million dollars to clearing up identity theft issues.
