Discovered this a few years back and love it! The Smithsonian will give you admission for 2 people to select museums. Go to the link here http://www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/ then click on the "ticket information" tab. You will be able to locate and choose a museum and input your info. This years museum day is Sept 29th. I've done this the past 3 years and there is no catch. It doesnt include parking, IMAX or other exhibits that normally cost extra. The first time I used this, I was sure I was gonna have problems w/ the ticket taker, but she knew what it was and was happy to see it because they get reimbursed for each ticket presented. So if you want to help your local, underfunded museum this is a good way to do it. I myself will be going back to my favorite museum, the USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park here in Mobile. I hope everyone enjoys their local museums as much as I do mine.

What Day Is It? Nope not Hump Day. Museum Day 2013 is 9/28. Go to Museum Day Live! | From Smithsonian Magazine and get yer ticket! You can choose the museum/Attraction by state and print out your ticket. One ticket per household and good for you and one guest. The museum you go to will be reimbursed the admission price so it's usually a profitable day for them. Parking, IMAX and other special attractions usually aren't included. Now go out and support your underfunded museums!
