Someone explain to me...

That to win a contest for a video camera, you are required to make a video.

Or that you are required to have already been to a national park and have a very professional photograph (that of course, you get no rights to once they take it) to win a trip to a national park or a camera.

Maybe it's just being male but these contests do NOT make any sense to me  :nono:

Actually, some people submit videos made on their digital camera or created on their computer and would really like to own a regular video recorder. As for cameras, someone may be trying to win another camera for a family member, win a better camera, etc.

YES! I have noticed this with quite a few sweepstakes, it makes no sense to me either. Why would I enter a video contest for a camera if I already had one?

We already had a digital camera, and we won three more. Two of my children got the regular digital cameras for their own use. We kept the third camera in addition to our digital camera, because it was a higher-end, professional digital camera that different lenses can be used on. Makes sense to me. :headbang:

My thing is mainly the video camera sweeps. I don't have one so it would be hard to do a video entry. I have one on my digital camera but, it only takes 1 minute of video since I don't have a memory card yet. You make a very valid point lidarkside, they would make great gifts and such for the kids and family members.

I would love to win a camcorder! We can make videos on our digital camera, but I haven't tried it yet; and I'm sure the quality and ease of use is not the same as a camcorder. I'd just rather have a camcorder! :headbang:

It's not *just* a guy thing...it's kind of like when they require you to be 21 to enter but put all the years in the drop down menu from 2008 on down. :sunny:

All this time and I've never won a digital camera. Still using the Leica M3-we do have indoor toliets now, though

You bring up a good point! I also like the ones where you're supposed to tell them something about a book or video you're trying to win (and have never read or seen). Seems to defeat the purpose!

To add to your collection. I know of some books I've read in the past and movies that I've seen that I would like to add to my collection to read or view once again! Some of these copies are even signed. A big plus to add to your library. :headbang:

I would love to have the whole Hobbit series!

Durn it wacky, I knew we were missing something!:pottytrain:
The book questions to win a book when its a paperback romance novel seem a bit excessive...

I don't enter any romance novel ones--don't need to read about it! :crazytongue:

I have some very nice hardcover and autographed hardcover books though!

Also, with cameras and such, I also like to have a backup in case the one I have is being serviced or just heads south!
