Sweeps Expiring 12-31-2008

I have received a bunch of questions about this so here's a note on the topic. As you can imagine, there are a ton of sweeps expiring on 12-31-2008. If you try to view them today, it is very likely that your computer will spin and spin without successfully pulling up the list. There are just too many sweeps for that date.

On 12-31-2008, the sweeps will be viewable as "sweeps expiring today". The system is a bit more accomodating in the "today" file.

To work-around this issue, here's a way to see which sweeps are expiring on 12-31-2008. Go into a specific category, like "Daily" or "One Entry". Have the sweeps arrange themselves by "Expiration Date" and "Ascending". This will reorganize the entire category with the sweeps that are expiring soonest at the front. You can then scroll through the list and see all the sweeps in that category that are expiring on 12-31-2008.

I tried this. The end of 12/31 expired ones is around page 70 of the list. Just to help others find it easier.

I can't pull up any one entry sweeps expiring 12/31. Searches for a moment then says done. The others load fine...am I missing something?

To reiterate what GSW said, you will need to the general one entry category. Then, sort by expiration date, ascending. Then, weed through to the 31st.

Just a quick note that we are in the middle of redeveloping this section so that you can
pull up all the expiring sweepstakes. When the individual expiring lists are over 300 listings
there is a limit between the web browser and web server that prevents the page from
fully loading. A new version of this expiring sweepstakes section will pull approx. 100 sweepstakes
at a time... vs. the whole list.

I think most people here know I hate obnoxious kissing up and over flattery, so know that what I am about to say is really how I feel.

I came from a sweeping home that was not forum friendly. It was a place of empty promises and lack of improvement. That was 3 years ago. The only changes that have come to that site is the three years are new emoticons and some silly forum tools. There have been no substantive changes to the sweeps portion of that site.

In the past three years, SA has changed. It has evolved and improved beyond words. When Ken says something is in the works, it is in the works. They take our suggestions and listen to our gripes, criticisms and hopes and work to make everyone happy. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, other times a few months. Sometimes ideas are not feasible. But, overall, the site moves forward. It improves rapidly. The changes, this year alone, have been amazing.

Even though Ken is an actual programmer, he still hires additional help to make improvements and/or speed them along. They work long hours everyday to make SA what we want it to be. Sometimes a bug like this arises. Sometimes it takes a while to correct. I'd much rather deal with a bug, as long as I know it is being worked on than go back to where I came from.

Thanks for listening and thanks for working so hard to make SA so practical and efficient. Sweepspop alone saves me about 45 minutes a day. Having the blogs in their own category is a huge time saver when I am in a rush. Dealing with ll1, well that's priceless :fired: :laughing: !

I didn't have a problem with pulling up the separate ones, like "Daily" until I got to the "One Entry" . It shows the logo at the top, and the rest is a blank page. It has 720 entries listed under the menu, so maybe the system can't display that many.
