Tampered Mail.

About a week ago or so I won a coupon from the Voss instant win game. Which I received today in the mail but the envelope was opened. I recently got a new mail man. I was curious has anyone mail ever been obviously tampered with if so how did you handle it and how did you stop it from happening again. I cant prove anything and it was a coupon so I dont want to stir up any trouble but if anything of real value comes I want to make sure this never happens again any advice?

Was the coupon still in the envelope or was it missing? I've had stuff like that happen from time to time (pre-sweeping days), but nothing was ever missing. Sometimes I think the senders just don't seal the envelopes well. You might want to try talking to a supervisor at your local post office (especially if it happens again), and you know, it may not have been the mailman. It could've happened during processing or may have been caught in a machine. Definitely something to keep your eye on though!

I wish some prizes (vouchers, gift cards and such) weren't so OBVIOUS in their packaging. The coupon I got for a free Twix recently (from the Twix Pick a Side instant win) was pretty visible through the white envelope which sorta annoyed me (let's just announce FREE Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways to the world, shall we?) hahaha!

I have received POSTCARDS with free product coupons CLEARLY visible. I trust my 5 day a week mailman. It's the neighbors I have to watch. Although, one time I received an empty padded envelope that was supposed to contain a bottle of 5 Hour Energy. I called the post office. They said there was a bottle found rolling around the bottom of the rolling cart and delivered it the next day.

I'm glad I ran into this post because I have a lot of trouble actually with the mail usually regarding coupons sent. It is a type of mail easily obtained and kept by either sorter at the mail room or deliverer. I also had tampered packages. The federal law states they cannot delivered to your damaged mail without notification from the post office, so if your mailbox has delivered a damaged letter, or parcel without notificstion of its damage it is imperative that you contact your postmaster.

Yup - just got my monthly Marlboro sweepstakes coupon and a huge chunk of 1 corner was missing BUT the coupon was still there.
