Technology-My stove & Self cleaning

Here's a laugh you can have at me today. My stove needed cleaned, I had no idea what I could use to clean the oven and I pulled up a manual on google. Well, apparently it has self cleaning on it. I was thinking "How in the heck does an oven clean itself?!"

I read on and figured out how to clean my oven with the feature. Keep in mind that I have had this stove for a year now and never knew how to clean the oven. Can we install something for "self house cleaning" on auto? My oven has another hour to go on it.

Oh, here's another thing. My fridge (also a year old) has a filtration system inside. I didn't know you were suppose to change a cartridge every 6 months. Although, I was able to pull up that manual it won't tell me where this filter is so that I can change it. I have to call the store and ask them for a manual since they didn't give me one.

Re: Technology-My stove & Self cleaning

Walmart has the filters for refrigs A LOT cheaper than Home Depot.

Most of the filters, you have to pull out the refrigerator. Behind the back, you will see two tubes and in the middle is a cylinder. That is where your filter is in.

BEFORE doing anyting, call the manufacturers hotline. Most do not need to be unplugged but some do.

Make sure you turn off the water before you do anything. Trust me on this, I heard that it makes a mess

Get a bucket under it because water will come out

And when you look at the filter.... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

And Miki, just know that the very next time you use your oven, something will spill over, bubble over, etc., making for another mess

Re: Technology-My stove & Self cleaning

Yetch, given how bad the water is here, if our fridge had a filter it would be growing something with two heads.... :tongue2:
Good luck with your filter change, Miki!

You're all too funny. I will be going to pay a bill at the store I purchased these from on friday (paying on my dryer...sigh) and will ask for a manual. I might even ask if the filters are included in the warrenty I have. It's worth a shot. I also want to find out how to remove this plastic thingy at the bottom so that I can dust inside.
