Text to Win Sweepstakes

I am wondering about these text sweepstakes and if you all have any real experience with them. I want to try them out on a regular basis, but since you are only giving out your number and they don't have an alternate way to contact you, do you get endless spammy calls/text newsletters like you do with regular online/email sweeps?

I enter a lot of the text to win sweeps and don't really have any spam calls to my cell. I do occasionally get texts from these companies (maybe 1 or 2 a week). They've all been ones that you can reply back STOP to have them remove your number.

I just won a 1 month gold XBox live membership on the Lipton text game. I've been doing a few of them for a while and I finally won something.

I have actuall won a few things from text. One was a pair of GB Packer tickets from Miller light. I had not given any info, and it just stated something along the lines of "congratulations...we'll be in touch." I got a little nervous, but low and behold about 2 months later I got a call. That was the only call I got from entering a text sweep. I do get weekly texts from a local news sweep, but I think I may have (had to) opt in. I say go for it!
