I just need to tell someone what a wonderful Thanksgiving we had.

My husband was laid off his job about 3 weeks ago and as some of you know I have grandkids and a daughter that live with us. We also have a lot of dogs to feed. Well we didn't have the money to spend on the traditional holiday feast like we have for the past 26 years and had accepted that fact. Wednesday night about 10pm we got a knock on our door. It was my neighbor from up the road with bags of food (turkey, milk, yams, etc...) and two big bags of dog food!!!!! I was sleeping and didn't know till my husband woke me to let me know what these fantastic people had done for us!!!! I have only met them a few times!!!!!! Oh you don't know how hard I cried!!!!! I called one of my other daughters and told her and she said, "Mom, you have always helped others when you could and now when you needed help God sent them to you!" That turkey was the best I have ever had!!!!! It will be one of the most memorable Thanksgivings and will never forget it.

Hugs to all and may you all have a wonderful holiday season!

great attitude, some of the best times are what we think of as the worst (at least it seems that way) but when we see things as they should be everything just looks a lot better, :sunny: HAPPY THANKSGIVING

I am so happy you were able to have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that the dogs had a feast too.

I know things are tough right now. Stay strong. Things will get better and I hope soon.

You try to have a wonderful holiday season. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers, especially the pups! :headbang:

It's so nice when you have proof that there are actually good people left in the world. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving

Wow! That is wonderful. I am so sorry about the job and I hope you find one very soon. Your story makes me want to cry, it shows there are still some wonderful people left in this world.

It makes me feel so guilty at what we had. It didn't even look like we touched the food that we had. This was our first combined Thanksgiving with our family and we didn't know how much food to make ~ needless to say, we made to much. I told everyone that I wish that we had a homeless shelter around that we could have donated it to. It was really sad that we had that much. We are blessed and we know it.

We got to have our extended family's Grandmother who is 95 years old with us this year. My step-Mother's mother-in-law. She gets around so well to be her age and is so sweet. So we had from age 2 to 95 this year ~ what a remarkable thing!!
