Remember us talking in a thread about donating to foster children and we don't have any facilities here? I Tried to have a yard sale, I had 2 people stop so I only made $25. It's better than nothing but, for me to have a sale out all day long and have to box everything back up it was a waste of time, really. I did however, give a guy a bunch of kids clothes and toys because, he said he had 4 foster children that came to him without anything and when he was going through the clothes I told him to take them when he asked how much I wanted. After the sale was over I gave the rest of the toys to my neighbor and told her to give them to the kids (it's her boyfriend). I felt really good about that. I also told her to come and see if she wanted anything also.

I then gave a handful of shirts to another person who I know could use them and then I boxed up the items I didn't want to keep and put them out by the light pole with a sign saying "FREE yard sale stuff". Hopefully someone who can use the items will take them.
 
Oh, the story about these children is really sad. Apparently they have been in and out of foster care and with the parents for years now. They have been sexually and physically abused by an older brother. The family last lived in a bus (not converted, still had seating like a school bus) with no heat, no water, nothing. I feel bad because, he said it's possible the parents will get the kids back again and it's been an ongoing thing.

That was nice miki. Hopefully the kids can use that stuff. Sometimes when the kids come into custody they have nothing but the clothes on there backs. Or when they go to a new foster home they just have a trash bag of thier things. Can you imagine all your stuff fitting into one trash bag? It's sad.

miki pm me and let me know your city. I really do think there is a group home around there. There has to be unless they are busing the kids to other cities. Which makes no sense.
