To the Awards Show, James!

Back last June, I received a call from Spike TV that I had won a trip for two for two nights in Los Angeles and tickets to some obscure award show. I was then told the show wouldn't be for about a year and the call was just to see if I wanted the prize. I said yes and then heard nothing for about eight months. I had no idea if the award show would occur or if they even remembered I had won. About eight months later, I received an email asking me to notarize some rather unusual forms that appeared more like TV releases than the standard affys. The next few months would have an occassional email asking for information (like flight time preferences) and then silence. I wasn't sure if anything would really come out of the "win."

I just received the itinerary and see we have coach travel to and from LA. But the rest of the trip is all First Class. Limo pickup to and from the LA airport, two nights at the Beverly Hilton hotel, limo service to and from the Guy's Choice Award, and VIP seats at the Awards Show. WOW! I did enough research to see it was best to have my son accompany me rather than my wife (sensitivity is not a hallmark of these awards). The taping is on May 30th and we fly out on the 29th. The show will be aired on June 21st (I think). I'll post when I return, but I'm really getting excited. Last year's show had celebrities such as Matt Damon, Harrison ford sweepstakes, David Spade, Hugh Hefner (and his entourage) and Cameron Diaz (winner of the Decade of Hotness award).

Have fun!! I hope the wait is well worth it, maybe it will be one of those trips were you get lots of little extra prizes.
