First round of tornadoes came through ~ touch down less than 3-4 miles from here. Houses destroyed and people missing. This is in the Powderly Ky. and Central City area of Muhlenberg county. We are lucky that we still have power and that we didn't have any damage. This area that was hit was the kid's friends houses though.
My grandparents had a bad storm come through in Christian county and they told them if they had a house fire not to even to call the fire department ~ they have a major gas line leak and the fire department is busy with it...
We have another round coming in so I'm back off for right now ~ hopefully will be able to check back in tonight. Thanks for the prayers ~ we are really needing them tonight!

I am so glad you are all ok. I am not too far from fearsgirl, been scared all night. We were at walmart when the first major part of the storm went through and I kept the kids really close.

3 deaths less than a mile away from me ~ kids are out of school for at least tomorrow. I am hearing at least 200 homes damaged or destroyed.
I still haven't heard from my nephew. He is a policeman in Central City and they were hard hit also. You can't get a phone call through on the cellphone.
Travis was at the Muhlenberg North High School when the tornado went over ~ they got the kids down in the locker room and they could hear the storm pass over. They said that the doors to the gym were sucked open and that everybodys ears popped. Part of the gym roof was torn off, all of the power lines were torn down and cars were flipped in the parking lot! Needless to say ~ I am a very lucky Momma tonight and I thank God that my family is okay tonight!! Travis hasn't been able to make it home, but he is safe.
In Tennessee they are reporting over 60 semi-trucks turned over around the Nashville area ~ so keep them in your prayers also. I know they are getting hit hard also!!

Oh my gosh that is all so scary Tammy I am glad you are ok.Also to miki and fearsgirl same thoughts and prayers to all of you.
Our news here said 31 killed overnight in these storms. My prayers go out to everyone affected by this. I am so sorry for the loses.

Good morning everyone. I am so glad you are all ok and ping, I am so glad to hear that Travis is safe. I hope you hear from your nephew really soon.
This was scary, the storm is moving on to other states right now and I hope you all stay safe. I finally went to bed at 2:30 this morning, couldn't keep my eyes open anymore after my all nighter, taking maybe 3 hour nap yesterday morning.
They said that this could be a record breaking winter storm. My thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

WHEWWWWWWWWWWWW !!!!!!!! Well that was a long night wasn't it Mikki. I think I dug a trench in my front yard pacing back and forth keeping an eye on the storm. We could see the storm as it was touching down in Southaven, MS It wiped out some buildings and sent semi trucks flying in the air. WOW is all I can say and prayers go out to all who lost homes and lives.
