turned down a prize

Received email notice that I won a DVD from a sponsor that I recognize as legit. They asked me to fill out the attached affidavit, which had name address, etc., but also asked for names of people residing in my household, day & evening phones, name address & phone # of my employer...Excuse me, for a frick-frackin' $18 DVD???????????????????????? I replied and told them to keep their precious DVD.

Has anyone ever turned down a crappy little prize like this because the sponsor was too damn nosy? Yes, if I'd won a gun or a house, maybe, but a lousy DVD that's already on my Netflix queue....?

:cheers: I don't blame you!!! Prizes like that usually show up as "surprises". Any affys I have ever filled out were for large GP
wins and didn't ask for THAT much info!!!

BTW...who was the sponsor? (Just so I won't waste time entering any of their contests) :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

:cheers: I have to agree that sometimes the hoops that they want you to jump thru to get that little prize is more bother than it is worth. Recently was asked to have a notorized affy, returned registered and certified back to them for a pair of gloves. Needless to say I figured my time, gas and value of the price was not worth it. Especially since the prize was something I would have just given away to someone.

Same thing here...a couple of months ago I won a DVD (not even a new release), and I was informed I had to print the affy in the email, get it notarized, fax it to them, then send it registered and certified back to them. I told them that for the value of the DVD, that would be a waste of my time and money and no thanks.
I never thought I'd decline a win until then!

Wallstreet game I just won 10 dollars. I so need the money but a picture of driver's license and an affy. I did it last year when I won 33 dollars there but sheesh. I can hardly get the scanner to work on my printer. I wish I could win something really good there as I have been a dedicated but not good at picking stocks since I found it. Not whining just so much to do for 10 dollars and last year the link wouldnt work and I had to call and keep emailing them to the point they were irritated. I could not help the link would not work they gave me but then again it was probably my fault. I think I am gonna pass it up this time since I do have 14 days to collect. Might change my mind before times up. Its easier there to play the bullseye game where you just guess the average stock price of the day. Sometimes the prize is 250 dollars and single win on that would be terrific. but when 5 win on 50 it just the thrill of doing it thats so much fun. :sunny:
