wow never thought of turning down a small prize had to turn down 2 trips wins for different reasons congrats anyhow maybe someone else will be happy with it
 
I personally wouldn't have declined a small prize like that especially since you don't have to pay taxes on it. If I personally didn't want to read the book....I know people that would. Or you could have donated it to the library like Julychild suggested.
 
That would have been a really nice gift to someone you know who likes to read, or a nice donation to a library, or a charitable organization that does auctions. I, too, would have accepted the gift.

After I read a book, will donate to someone else. So if win a book don't want the hospital always appreciates them for the waiting areas when families are waiting on really sick ones. When we were day after day waiting when sister in IC ICU lots would of enjoyed something like that.
 
Honestly, seems rude to decline the prize they are proud of and promoting. It makes us all look a bit snobby and may lesson the generosity of promoters. Maybe - don't enter next time.
