vanishing sweeps

can anyone tell me why this happens? I know some sweeps went away during the last SA problem, but this has happened to me in the past. Is there a way to back up your sweeps on SA?
 
By the past, do you mean several years ago? There really is no reason to back them up yourself. There is also no current way to do this.
 
No, it has not been several years since it has happened, I can't really say how long, but it has happened a number of times. Some of them I have found on my own, through their emails, and just remembering them. But I enter so many that sometimes I just can't remember who the sponsor is to run a search.

So you might see a sweeps listed as a daily, then someone will catch that it's really a 1x or weekly, and it will get moved to the correct category, and if you missed the comments, you'd just think the sweeps poofed.

That's yet another reason why PLUS is so awesome - you get to put it where YOU decide! :headbang:
 
No, I didn't see that, but that's not what I'm talking about! I'm saying that sweeps vanish entirely. It dose not happen often, but it dose happen. I do not claim to know anything about programming or running a web site. It very well could be on my end. Maybe SA could add another category with poofed sweeps reported by membrs? Or if that already exist, where is it?
 
The usual way a sweeps gets poofed is because the sponsor doesn't keep the link up, and it gets reported. The only people aware of this are those who report and the editor who pulls it, unless there was discussion in the comments.

Because SA is a listing service, they can't control the sponsor end. So if a sweeps becomes a bad link, and many people report it, it gets pulled. IF the sponsor notes it ended early, the sweeps end date gets modified to push it into expired. These types are rare.

We'll occasionally post & sticky a thread for the ones that keep poofing {that's a LOT of work for the editors btw - having to pull/relist/pull/etc} but there is a BIG interest in - like:

So no, there is no specific location for poofed sweeps, but if you check out the chatter in comments {I check the 50 latest link throughout the day} and keep an eye on the Latest or New Sweepstakes forum, you'll at least get a heads up to bookmark the link if you think it will poof.

Also - many sweeps have issues on holidays/weekends, and that is taken into consideration - but if the issues persist, the sweeps will get pulled. If you become aware of a formerly poofed sweeps that is live, just shoot me a pm, I'll check it out, and pass it on to an editor to be relisted. :sunny:
