I just ordered the 1st part of my DIY favors. I got these 5inch "message in a bottle w/cork". Glass . Assorted shapes in sets of 12. I'm trying to stick with the Carribbean theme and thought of filling these bottles with coconut scented bath salts or coconut scented shower gel (not sure yet). hot glueing some ribbon, mini flowers, pearls, ???????? I dunno, some sort of decoration glued to the bottle...What do you guys think?

Ohhh and I am ordering these Shell Place Card Holders next week when I get paid.... I think they are sooo cute...

:sunny: Wonderful selection! How big are the bottles? I think I would stick with bath salts. Be sure to get a funnel to fill them and will go alot faster. They sell little tiny starfish that you could also glue onto the bottle. I have also seen the bottles filled with just plain sand from the wedding/honeymoon destination.
 
Hi pmeek :wave: ... thanks for replyig girl... the bottles are 5" tall and come with funnels (for filling)... i think you're right on going with the bath salts.... thanks again girl.. i'll look for some mini starfish
 
:sunny: If I get time tomorrow, I'll go down to the Shell Shop here, see what they have and get a price for you. They have all kinds of shells, dried sea life and such. Very reasonable prices, too!
 
The mini starfish would look cute on the table also! I love those bottles. They are so cute!!
 
My daughter is about to get married on the 27th and thank goodness she has finished all of this :) I like the shells also and the bottles. Are you guys having the ceremony in the eavning or during the day?

I think the botles will look great with ribbon. Maybe a couple candles on the tables will look great with the other things and some flower pedals. You can buy fake flower pedals for cheap.

Oh and I forgot to tell you the groomsmen are getting mugs :laughing:

The ceremony will be @ 6pm outside in the garden area at the resturant in Santa Cruz..... i'm using tropical leafs and green plants and some tropical flowers to accent the tables, head table, & guest book table.... we ordered large size island lanterns in different colors to place on top of bamboo placemats for the centerpieces.... I'm soooo happy this is all finally coming together and I'm able to narrow things down to what we like.... thanks for all your help all..... Totally appreciate it. :sunny:
