Weight Watchers Anyone

I can't remember who it was but someone was on the boards a while back and they were doing Weight Watchers. Come talk to me! I had my first meeting yesterday and I would love to have a buddy. I have to be bikini ready by May when I take the Disney Cruise to the Nassau that I won here on this site. Man oh man, life is good. (even if I can't have two margaritas tonight - life is still good)
 
I did it years ago when I wanted to lose a few pounds. IMO it's the best program out there. Good Luck on the weight loss and Congrats on the great win.
 
It is a good program. I swear though, I think I'm going to have to just hook up an IV so I can drink all the water! :crazytongue:

It is a common myth that a person needs to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. What is true is that it can be 8 glasses of any liquids...soda, tea, coffee, juice, milk, etc...as long as a person gets their 8 glasses a day in. A person doesn't have to drink 8 glasses of water, on top of everything else drank in that day. Doctors would PREFER you to drink only water, as other liquids contain sugars and calories which might be detrimental to a diet. But doctors don't use the word "prefer"; instead they just tell you to drink water. :crazytongue:
 
I drink a gallon of water a day :laughing: I've just gotten used to it and it's just habit now. I do work out so I think that is one reason.

Good luck with WW and remember I think it's just a way of life that we have to change our diets if we want to be healthier.
 
It is a way of life. I just would prefer to have my way of life include two margaritas (with salt) and a side of corn chips and cheese dip. Guess my hips will have to do without the dip huh? That's okay, when I'm on my cruise I will be very very happy. (I Hope)

We don't have that where I live
I go up and down where I have to
take steroids ever so often due to my
MS and I have now lost 49 lbs.just cutting
back and drinking milk alot.I think that has
helped me lose weight too but when I have
a relaspe I will be back on steroids.

I'm a Paul Campos fan and have too many abdominal scars to pull off a bikini without frightening children :laughing: (Thank goodness for Decent Exposures!) I think its great that Weight Watchers encourages exercise now. How does that work with their points system? :scratch:
 
It rocks that they push excersise. Sadly but true (I went to school for this so trust me on this one) you can lose weight without ever lifting one foot towards the gym!!!!!!! But that being said, it is so much better to just move your body a little bit. I have taught step aerobics for years and it's just fun. The social part is probably what makes it fun but hey-whatever works. WW now has the system down to an art so that if you get in so many minutes of exc'se, you get to add points to your daily allowance. Go figure. I'm sticking to just what I am allowed at first because usually the first two weeks are really great on your weight loss. A lot of it is water no matter what anyone says!!!!! After that first one or two weight in's though-it's down to the nitty gritty one or two pounds a week. Anyone have any good recipes that kids would like - feel free to share. I have a feeling they are going to quickly tire of chicken breast and turkey! :crazytongue:
 
I agree you can loose weight without going to the gym but I work out for the health benefits and it keeps the lymphs system moving. Plus at my age I need to build muscle to replace what I loose.

Besides all that I have lots of energy and I know my heart is thanking me. Yes I am an exercise junky. :laughing:

Fears. today I start my slimfast plan. I want to follow everything they say to do. It seems pretty cool, they have a meal plan set-up for me. a shopping list (so I buy the right foods), and a workout program. I need to loose 25-30 pounds and I'm giving myself til' May to do so. We go to Hawaii then, and I wanna look hottttttttttttttttttt, smokin baby... lol ... I just started a cardio/body sculpting class and I want to dedicate myself to that to see how far I can really go since I really want to do this.... I'll keep ya updated on my progress....
