I am debating on whether or not to fulfill a prize from Globetrotters Giveaway. They sent a W-9 that I must return by November 4 in order to receive a $15 Gift Card. What would you do?
 
If its a GC to a store that you never shop at- let it go. If its a visa or amazon or something like these, maybe you want to consider it. You're supposed to claim it on taxes whether you get a form or not anyway. If you're worried about your personal info on such a small win though, call em, ask em if they really need that info or do they just need your info to show who the prize was awarded to for accountibility. Maybe they dont REALLY need your ssn. Congrats and GL.
 
Some sponsors or JA that have a lot of sweepstakes a year will ask for a the information needed for a W9 so that you win several times from them and the total adds up to over $600 they have it on file.

:sunny: Sponsors can send a W-9 for any prize. It just depends on how much you want the prize. At one time I filled out a W-9 for a $15 prize. It's up to you.
