What I've learned from sweeping

I've been thinking of the things that I've learned since I started sweeping. Feel free to add to the list. It's just fun & games

I've learned that even if you sweep today, you'll need to sweep again tomorrow - & the floor won't end up looking any better than before you swept!

I’ve learned persistence…Instant wins are not really instant… sometimes you have to click 50 different things to find out if you’re a winner.

I’ve learned patience… Instant wins don’t get to you instantly. Sometimes it may take 6-8 months to get that “instant” win.

I’ve learned typing… I’ve learned how to use my number keys on my keyboard for all those manual submit sweeps (I was never too good at the number keys!)

I’ve learned perseverance…. Entering the same sweeps 6 months in a row will do that for ya.

I’ve learned excitement… Now I can’t wait for the mailman to get to the house!

I’ve learned disappointment… I hate it when the mailman doesn’t bring me anything for quite sometime.

I’ve learned some places have a sense of humor on their wins… I really don’t know many people that want a screensaver download as a prize!

I’ve learned other people feel they’re entitled to your wins… Others feel like you should give them things that you’ve won (or in the case of my Wendy’s win that I should take 10 people out to eat since I won the prize and it didn’t cost me anything)

I'm sure I'll think of more... but you'll enlighten me on some of the things that you've all learned.

:sunny: I've learned that no matter how bad or crazy my day has been, when I come to SA and start entering it doesn't take long for me to forget all about it!

:sunny: I've learned that even though it's a prize I really wanted, that when an SA member wins it, I don't really mind and am happy for them.

oh yeah... I've also learned that the companies aren't necessarily sincere. I really don't think that gingerbread man was sincere when he said Sorry that I wasn't a winner. The smile on his face was a dead giveaway :cussing:

I've learned I'm "not a winner" Thanks to the Instants!

I've learned that no matter how much I wanted to win that prize, winning it means nothing. There is always someone waiting, at my side, to claim it as their's! :headbang:

I've learned that no matter how impressed and jealous people are by my wins, they are still too lazy to enter sweepstakes.

I've learned how to shut my husband up, just by winning! :sunny: Now I never have to hear, "Nobody ever wins those things," again! :headbang:

I've learned that I am addicted to sweeping and that the withdrawals from not being able to enter are not pretty!

A M E N !!!! to both of those!!!

I've learned not to post certain wins until I have them in hand, JIC. :nono:

I also have learned that some people have a sense of entitlement and will enter sweeps they aren't eligible for. :nono:

Some sweepers also give the rest of us a bad name by entering under numerous addys. :nono:

This was all stuff I really wish I hadn't of learned

BUT - then I came to SA and saw the GOOD in my fellow sweepers!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I've learned to step back, and remember what it was like when I first started, so I can help a new sweeper learn the ropes :sunny:

I've learned that my love for this hobby grows daily, and that the wonderful people here at SA from admin to the newest member are the MAIN reason :sunny:

And I've learned that sweeping ain't for sissies  You MUST be able to handle rejection very well

Ive learned that people who come up with verification codes are evil.

Ive learned that cute little animations on instants have a funny way of making me change my facial expression, they frown, so do I.

Wow what a great list. I have learned that people insist that "Wow, you are the luckiest person I have ever met". They say that alot. What they don't notice is the hour and a half that I spend entering every single day. I think a must have an addictive personality because I just have to enter my sweeps. I can't get my day started until they are done. I have also learned that the harder I try - the more I win.

 :sunny: I have learned to be happy for everyone that wins and I am. :headbang:

I must say I love to win but when someone else wins

something I tried to win I am very happy for them.

You will not find any more nice people on a sweeps' site

than right here on Sweeps' Advantage.Go SA :headbang:

especially when they include *+=#@ :cussing: UGGGG!!!!! I'm bad enough at numbers - much less symbols!!!!

I've learned that after almost two years of sweeping, I can still get excited over winning a t-shirt.

I've learned that buying products I don't really need just for the code can pay off.

I've learned the fine art of dumpster diving for Coke Sweepstakes codes.

I've learned that I can teach my husband to bring me coke codes from work, even tho he complained in the beginning.

I've learned NOT to tell my son about everything I win, and to hide the wins for gifts when appropriate.

I've learned to just shrug off the pity smirks when people ask about my hobby.

I've learned I can wipe that pity smirk off when I win a great prize and they find out about it.

I have learned that the sound of a UPS truck can wake me up from a deep sleep :headbang:

I have learned that if you are waiting on a nice win ~ that is the slowest company EVER to fulfill it's prizes, but let it be a t~shirt, and it will be in your mail box the next day!!

I have learned that I REALLY REALLY need high speed internet

I have learned that TV isn't nowhere as interesting as my life here on SA :headbang:

I have learned that these friends that I have made here on this little sweepstakes site are some of the best people that I have ever known :sunny: and that I am a lucky person whether I ever win a sweeps again

I've learned that after almost two years of sweeping, I can still get excited over winning a t-shirt.

I'd be a heck of a lot more excited about those tees if they came in a size I fit in. :D
Wait -- if I came in a size they offer. :D
Workin on that, though. :booty"

I've learned....
When it seems dark and sad (because you arent winning) Whine about it, and a prize is just around the corner! :)
People throw away coke caps
You can really get FREE stuff
Packages are fun to get in the mail

And I love to say, "Kailey mommy got a package!!" And watch her run to the door to see what it is. And watch her open it. Its like christmas. And then sometimes she opens it and its something boring, and she says, "Ummm ohhhh." And gives it to me. :crazytongue:

I have learned that I am most deffinately a "loser" as I have heard/seen it several times a day for a few years now.

I have learned that besides my kids and dh, I really have no life outside of sweepstakes during my alone/free time. Don't know whether to laugh or cry, sooo

I have learned that when a sponsor says 4-6 weeks after sweepstakes end, they really mean 4-6 months.

Those are all cute comments everyone! Thanks for sharing.

Wow - these are great! wolfie - I had to chuckle and say "yep" when I read your comment about when people complain when you when, but are too lazy to enter themselves!

I've learned that I am tired of hearing "you're the luckiest person I know"...even after I've repeatedly given them tips on boosting their odds.

I've learned that I need a laptop (so I can enter when I go away, and don't go thru withdrawals)

I've learned that I can hear UPS three blocks away (my family is amazed when i run from my room and say "I hear UPS - is he stopping at our house").

I've learned that you really can't win if you don't play, and sometimes a prize might seem so out of reach, but it can happen (I won a Camry!).

I've learned that my computer and keyboard are overworked :)

I've learned that you people here on SA are the best :headbang:

i learned that i can have nice things by sweeping.I also found out the I in winning is really a we in diguised.i do all the work and others claimed it like they did the work.

Cute list.
I learned that even if you win 5 prizes this week, if you dont win for a week after, it feels like forever.

I learned the name of every UPS driver that works this area.

I learned every company does not tell the truth :nono:

I learned that SA is the best site in the world and I am so glad and lucky that I found it as my first sweeps site, and the great people here to help me. :headbang:

I learned my husband knows how to cook and take care of the kids if I am entering sweeps with prizes he wants.

This is a great starter subject!

I have learned how hard it really is to win anything. I have entered many sweeps when they were first listed until they closed - every single day. And even when there were 100 -1,000 prizes, I did not get anything. There must be tens of thousands of other sweepers competing with me!

I have learned that there is certainly an element of luck to the IW game. I have tried to do IW's in the wee hours of the morning (when presumably much fewer people are sweeping) and I still come up with nothing. I see people posting these terrific wins (Ipods and gift certificates galore). I then enter these same IW's and I get "sorry" time after time.

I have learned that One Time Sweeps are the hardest to win although they are the least aggravating because it's just one click and you are done. But they are near impossible to win since everyone has the same idea.

I have learned that it is very hard to write an essay good enough to win anything. I keep trying to write something really catchy - but the judges just discard my enteries - time after time.
