I seen this show on the Food Network Channel (Barefoot Contessa), 2night we are having this with a side of Steak Fries....

Real Hamburgers
Show: Barefoot Contessa

Episode: All American

2 pounds ground chuck
1 pound ground sirloin
3 tablespoons steak sauce (recommended: Crosse & Blackwell)
6 extra-large egg yolks
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
12 hamburger buns
Carefully mix the meats, steak sauce, egg yolks, salt, and pepper with the tines of a fork, but do not mash it. Lightly form each hamburger and lightly press into a patty shape. Make an indentation and put a thin slice of butter inside each hamburger, making sure the butter is entirely encased in the meat.
Heat a grill, broiler, or saute pan and cook the hamburgers for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until almost done. Remove to a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Allow the hamburgers to rest for 5 minutes and serve immediately on buns.

The sun is shining here in Cali, so we are BBQ'ing....

I swear that woman irritates me to no end, but I have to admit, she has some killer recipes. I think tho, if I hear one more reference to her and the Hamptons, I'm gonna puke. C'mon Ina...we get it already!

Let me know how they turn out. We had leftovers tonight from some Enchilada's I made the other day.

She irritates me too, and she's kind of boring. Oh, and by the way, she lives out here by us over in the Hamptons!! :crazytongue:

We didn't have much tonight. My daughter had mac and cheese, hubby wasn't hungry, and I made queso with chips for me.

I suppose you have 10 billion friends like her also!

Oh my god! I was going to say something about that. Her husband works in Connecticut. So, he's only home on the weekends. I notice that when he's away, she's got the strangest, most excentric mix of friends I've ever seen coming and going!

Oh yeah....she talks about what a wonderful marriage she has. Well duhhhhhh....she never freakin see's him except on the weekends. I guess it would be like a honeymoon.

Sorry for hijackin your thread Champ...I'll stop now.

Does anyone watch Paula Deen? I just love comfort food. I bought a couple of her cookbooks. The tomato pie is good! :eat:

:sunny: That sounds really delicious Champ! I only wish I could eat that much red meat, egg yolks and butter, but my cholesterol is already too high. I would be chowing down on that if I could. Be sure and let us know how yummy it is. I can already see the juices drippling down your chin as you take a bite!

That sounds yummy, I use to watch that channel when I had cable.

We had kinda a breakfast for dinner tonight. Steamed smoke sausages, scrambled eggs, oven roasted red potatoes lightly coated with olive oil and some spices, biscuits.

Rainy and cold here, still, so I have a pork roast cooking in the slow cooker. I'm going to make bar-b-q pulled pork sandwiches, seasoned fries, and buttered carrots.

Omg... Those burgers were killer.... so friggin' good. I think the steack sauce is the key... WOW... every bite fiance and I would look at each other and laugh... didn't expect the "kick" in those.... Great burgers... Wow miki I love breakfast 4 dinner...That sounds soooo good what you put together.. you really went all out... come and cook me some of that... and completely.. I'm a slow cooker fan too and what you're gonna do with your meat sounds soooo good 2.... There were some yummo choices here....

Tonight we're having:

Grilled (bbq'd) salmon, baked zuccini and yellow squash, with a side of garlic rice (I usually put a slice of butter and garlic salt in the rice cooker with the rice)

What ya'll havin' 2night?

completelyme - can I come over for dinner???? That sounds so yummy. I'd like to cook in my slow cooker more (as I'm so tired in the afternoons), but I don't have that many recipes. so I thought it might just be easier to come to your house

You guys are more than welcome!

But be aware! The kiddos are going to grandma's and grandpa's after they eat so mommy and daddy can break out the beer and porn  So come early

Sorry Champagne, couldn't resist :booty"

mtejen-every now and then I'll come on-line for a slow cooker recipe but I usually just make it up as I go along. Any kind of meat and veggie sprinkled with your own spices combined with gravy/sauce/water and you have yourself a meal.

I have been dying to make mac-n-cheese in the slow cooker. I have a few recipes but have been iffy about it. Anyone try doing that? I'm afraid it's going to turn out dry and rubbery.

Oh...well...hmmmm....maybe I'd better rethink my plans  Sounds like you and hubby will be "busy". I love it when the kids go to grandma and grandpas!! :headbang:

2nite my sister and family are coming to stay the night... So my mom called and said she is taking care of dinner.....

Shrimp Scampi with spinach salad on the side.......

I have never made mac and cheese in the crockpot, but made an early St. Patricks meal today with crockpot corned beef, carrots, onions and potatoes with cabbage (I make the cabbage on the stove though with some juice scooped off from the crockpot, cause the cabbage in the crockpot always gets more overcooked than we like it).

Bonus is leftovers for Ruebens tomorrow :)) (that is my favorite part, partner likes the corned beef and cabbage better).

champagne, lol. That meal I made was a "Not going grocery shopping until Monday or Tuesday, throw whatever you can together to create a meal until then" dinners. It was good though, if I was closer I would invite you over for dinner!

Let me tell you, just about a week ago I tossed a breakfast together for the kids and hubby. I had 1/2 bag strawberries in the freezer and made my own sauce for pancakes, that was sooooo good!

I can cook but, I am trying to learn to cook new foods. I am a city girl now stuck living the country life and people out here cook much differently than I do.

Anyone want a good EASY mac and cheese recipe? Cost more to make but, well worth it. Here, let me copy a couple recipes I posted on another site in the web world. I got most of these from inlaws.
