Where were you?

:sunny: 45 years ago. Those of you who are old enough, where were you when you heard the news that JFK had been shot? It seems to be one thing that people have not forgotten.

I was in the 4th grade. We were outside at recess. I was playing marbles and winning, so I wasn't too happy when they told us all to go inside. All the 4th graders went into one room, the teachers were crying, they turned on the television and we saw the news. I don't think there was a dry eye in the school.

I was in jr high. They brought us all into the auditorium and put a TV up on the stage. We all watched as things developed. This was probably the first time I was aware of what goes on in this country and the world.

I just turned 5 the day before and I remember seeing it on a black and white TV because that's all we had back then. I was young but the main thing I remember was all the women crying because he was such a good looking president.

I had been in the country for about four years. My English was still not so good. I was in school struggling to not feel like a total dummy when the news broke. Everyone started crying and for the first time I felt like I belonged . . . . I think that is the day I became a true American. . . . weird heh.

7 years before I was born ~ thank goodness. Just watching the footage hurts me...

I was also in the 4th grade....I remember we all gathered in the auditorium and said a prayer....I don't think they would do something like that today.
