I realize politics can be a very touchy subject so please know I am not trying to offend anyone by posting this. I am just sharing. I deffinately don't want to start a debate but maybe we could share some thoughts on this subject and not get too wild

Who is Barack Obama?

Very interesting and something that should be considered in your
choice.

If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to all
your contacts...this is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us
here in our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and share it.

We checked this out on "snopes.com". It is factual. Check for yourself.

Who is Barack Obama?

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from
Wichita, Kansas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His
mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.?
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also
attended Catholic school."

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear
that he is not a radical.

Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this
< B>influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
influence over his son's education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
in Jakarta.

Wahabism is the RADICAL teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
it is politically expedient to be a CH RISTIAN when seeking major
public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.

Barack Hussein Obama will NO T recite the Pledge of Allegiance nor
will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands
over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential
candidacy.

The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
& out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
President of the United States, one of their own!!!!

As far as I'm concerned, they're all the same; and I don't trust the lot of them. Corporate America is the one running the show anyway!! :crazytongue:

Hard to comment on anything political without offending someone! As we get closer to the elections, I suspect we'll see more of this kind of posting. It's great that you are all supportive of the political process and I hope that everyone expresses their preferences by actually voting.

But...

A sweeps board is not necessarily the best place for discussion of this nature. Allow me to suggest that you visit http://www.politicalbrawlhall.com if you'd like to champion a candidate or argue politics. You'll see some familiar faces there, but their main focus is politics, not sweeping.

Interesting article, it's a tough discussion to get into. I really don't know who I want as president at this time.

Thanks gosweepwin for the link. I have heard of the site before but today I decided to check it out a little more.

Being as I'm a conservative Christian I think they would rip me to shreds there. I looked around a little and I could see the direction most of the topics were on and I would be slightly outnumbered.

I am interested in politics but not that sort of debate.

Obama sounds like an interesting, well-rounded person with a variety of cultural experiences to his credit. It would be a pleasure to vote for somebody who doesn't look like me, and bring more of the face of America to the Oval office. For far too long the major offices of power have been dominated by white, middle-aged, Christian men. I doubt that Obama is a Muslim, but that does not disqualify him for me. We need more persons of color, and those of other religions and ethic groups to represent us as part of the general mix. An Atheist or an Agnostic for president would be great, but unfortunately, the general public is very biased against very secular people.

My major beef with Obama is his health care plan. His does not have a mandate covering all, and Hillary's and Edward's does. The issues are of utmost importance to me.

I actually like him but the muslim thing is something to think about. I am all for different races. I don't care what color a persons skin is.

So the good thing is we can all go vote.

We have to vote for who we feel is best for the job but I do care who will be in office that's for sure. :)

More people would be put off by an Atheist or Agnostic for president than a Muslim, but I would be thrilled with one because I'm an Agnostic. I think Obama's dad was a Muslim, but it really doesn't matter. Nobody his going to make head scarves mandatory.

I vote at election time, even during the primaries, and have been doing so since I'm 18. Voting is a right that is not shared by much of the world.

:sunny: No problem Cin. I learned a long long time ago to always check for myself. Remember this is the internet, they can tell you anything and most people will think because they read it somewhere that it is true.

Huh! Perhaps there is more truth to this story than not.....someone caught Obama during the playing of the National Athem.

Funny I happened to see this exact same post on another site and the comments made there were again cruel as usual. In fact the thread was locked because members thought this email was hateful and racist.

One more reason I like it here is that those of us who responded here kept it civil. No one was attacking anyone or complaining about the post. Yep we are all adults here  We can post and not start an argument. thanks everyone for being respectful.

Well since we're on the subject of history  Last night I watched a program on the history channel about Bonnie and Clyde. No I'm not related to them but I saw an old farm house where they once stayed in Louisiana. I did do a prize wish search on them and they were only 24 and 25.

Regarding that photo: Seeing is believing? I don't think so....for example:

1. It could have been "photoshopped" - it's easy to do, believe me, especially since the "digital age"

2. The picture could have been taken "out of context" - the National Anthem could have been started in the next second or two and Obama's hand could have been over his heart like the rest of them, too.

I don't know who I'll vote for in the primaries. I'm in Texas, and you have to "declare" if you are Democratic or Republican. I'm leaning for voting for John McCain, actually. But, I think if you have Obama on the Democratic side and McCain on the Republican in the general election in November, whichever one wins, the U.S. - we - come out the winner.

Just my two cents worth....

Kate

I'm in Texas also and actually leaning towards McCain but therer's still time. I just hope whoever wins in 2008 they will do a good job but they are politicians so you know how that goes lol.

I haven't decided either, but I have had my heartstring pulled by John Edwards. I don't think he has a shot, but the poor man has been through a lot. I don't understand being one the road while your wife has cancer, but then again, I didn't understand the way my Momma wanted us to go about our "normal" lives and then we lost her a month later

I know he doesn't have a shot at winning between Clinton and Obama, but I still like him!
