Winners Circle Question

How can I change the way the threads are listed in the winner's circle section....It is now listed in alphabetical order and I try to change it to the latest time posted and it won't change...it keeps going back to alphabetical listing??
 
I found these "Thread Display Options" in FAQs. Haven't had a chance to try yet.

"Can I change the order of posts?

You have a choice over how you view threads. When you're in a thread, look at the top bar. On the right hand side you'll see 'Display Mode'. Click on this and it lets you change how posts are ordered.

You have three choices:

Linear Mode - posts are displayed chronologically, usually from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously. It is possible to change the ordering by changing your preferences in the User CP

Threaded Mode - a tree is shown along with every post. This shows you the relationship each post has to the others. It's easy to see who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time. By clicking on a single post in the post tree, the page will show that post and all posts made in response to it.

Hybrid Mode - This is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed as in the threaded mode, but many posts are shown at the same time as in the linear modes."

Thanx for the help..I tried the above suggestions but the threads are still showing in alphabetical order instead of of newest to oldest time posted.....Can't get the hang of this new forum format?? What happened to the smilies you can put in with your posts??
 
You're right, linear mode only arranges the posts chronologically within a thread, but you want to arrange the threads themselves chronologically. I don't see an option for that, but I will pass your question on to Ken and post when he replies.

About the smilies - I know I read about them and saw them when I was trying to post. Has anyone been successful with smilies? Please post if yes, ty!

can only get smilies to work in title not in the message

Right, Bruce/deerwalker - so far I only see the smilie option for titles. I will try to look further, jic.


Rockin7E- your question about arranging the Winner's Circle threads in chronological order -

Ken replied, "The option should be in "settings" then "general settings" for each user/member. Whatever is in the drop down is what is available."

I haven't had a chance to experiment further, but I will try as soon as I can. (I hope it can be done because I like it that way also.)
 
:cool: okay figured out smiles go to general settings then to Message Editor Interface:
change from basic editor to standard limit of 4 images

Well I found the smilies;) However In the winners circle threads/I clicked on thread display options down near the bottom of the page/changed it to last post time and it sent me to the surveys forum:confused:/went to settings and general settings and I am unable to find anything there to re-arrange the thread options......

Thanks for letting us know and for continuing to try. Pmeek has already updated Ken on this...if there is a way to change this we will let you know.

AMEN!! and Thanx so much!! There really is a Santa Claus!!!:D

Don't have any wins to post....yet.... but I do enjoy reading about what others have won without having to look here there and everywhere!!!
