Won a trip--finally!--and I can't go :(

I started entering Sweepstakes hoping to win a trip of some kind and this morning I finally got the email I'd been hoping for from an Italian travel site:

Congratulations, on behalf of Fondazione Sistema Toscana, manager of the “IN FLORENCE WITH GALILEO” contest, I have the pleasure to inform you that you have won.

“IN FLORENCE WITH GALILEO” prize consists in a trip for two in Tuscany. The prize can be exploited from July 19, 2010 to July 31, 2010 and from September 6, 2010 to September 30, 2010 excluding long weekends and public holidays.

The prize includes:

FLORENCE

· 3 nights in n° 2 double rooms with breakfast - in hotel ****
· N° 2 Dinners in a traditional Tuscan restaurant in Florence or environs.
· Guided visits (with a guide dressed in the clothing of Galileo) of the new Galileo Museum
· Guided visit of the 'places' of Galileo (the Il Gioiello Villa, the Specola Tower, the Astronomical Observatory).

PISA

· 2 nights n° 2 double rooms with breakfast – in hotel ****
· N° 2 Dinners in a traditional Tuscan restaurant in Pisa or environs.
· Guided tour of piazzas, monuments and palazzos

Free Pass for 4 persons for a guided visit to 60 museums in Tuscany

Unfortunately, this trip doesn't include airfare from the US and the dates don't work for me either :cry:. Guess I will have to pass and keep on sweeping hoping for that elusive all-inclusive trip win!
 
Oh man what a nice trip and so sad you can't go. Good luck with winning one that includes everything, afraid I would be in the same boat as you if I won could'nt afford that kind of airfair. Good luck winning the next one.
 
Well congrats anyhow, least you know it possible, don't forget passport prices are rising up to 130. or 135.00 now. Just keep sweeping, just keep sweeping.

In the future you may want to check to see if airfare is included on a trip that you want to win so that you aren't wasting your time. Some contests do not select another winner if the original winner declines meaning that the prize goes to no one. Best of luck to you in winning a trip that you can take!

Thanks for the tips! Actually for this particular contest I have a few days to transfer the trip to someone or let them know so they can award it to the reserve winners that were chosen. Also, when I entered I was aware that airfare wasn't included, just didn't realize the date restrictions. If I had been able to take it sometime next year, I would have had time to save up for the airfare and definitely would have gone! I studied Italian and Astronomy in college and this trip was right up my alley! Just didn't work out for me. Hopefully whoever gets to go has an awesome time! :)
