HGTV Dream Home Giveaway

Anyone else watch this last night? Is it just me or did the woman who won seem a bit less excited than she should have been? It kind of seemed like she was annoyed that her party was interrupted. Having won something on live TV I can totally understand being nervous and a bit overwhelmed and not reacting right away, but this was a multi-million dollar win! Get a little excited! She looked like she just wanted to go back to her glass of wine.

 I didnt watch it but wish I would have now. Maybe she was in shock. I wish they would surprise someone in their pj's drinking a bud and watching cops.

It would be better if they shot it like a Cops episode...spotlight with you running through the streets screaming at the top of your lungs looking like an idiot...you know, the helicopter shot from above ~ I think that would be different ~ lol!

In all honesty, I wouldn't be reacting like a lunatic either. I'm just not a person that gets into a frenzy over anything even the Dream Home. Some people are just like that. :)

I dont think anyone thinks someone should act like a lunatic but act like you are atleast a little bit excited. There is an in between lunatic and zombie.

I didn't watch it, I don't know how I would have reacted...most likely cried because, it would have been a major life change for me. Don't know though, you probably would have seen me hiding from the camera (I hate them!!)

Actually, I think my reaction would be something like... "Oh my goodness, my house is a total wreck, I don't have on any makeup, I feel like crap, I'm already in my night clothes (or have been in them all day), I haven't washed my hair, etc., etc....."

That would be when national TV would come to my house! :crazytongue:

That would be Publishers Clearning House that does that!

I watched it, and I don't find it odd. First of all, why is the front door already open and they're already standing in that spot down the foyer; and how could they do this without first having the winner sign the affidavit which also has them agree "first" to the publicity portion of the rules. The woman is also clearly wiping tears away too and is uncomfortable.

If it were me, I'd want to punch that HGTV lady for being so freakin' annoying!

I'm stunned at the nasty comments made on youtube. Talk about a bunch of sour grapes!! Geez, so she didn't react the way they think she should have, and that makes her undeserving and a b**ch?! Nobody knows how they will react in a situation like that. I know that if my husband had won, they would have had even less of a reaction. NOTHING excites him (except me of course ). He's calm through anything, and I love the fact that he is. Ugh, whats disappointing is the judgemental people throwing nasty comments and showing just how trashy they are.

People have a tendency to judge others based on their own personal beliefs and views.

As far as I'm concerned, these things are preorchestrated for television. Not only do the winners have to first agree, by signature, to the publicity portion in the rules, the sponsor can't confirm a winner until they get back a signed affidavit for the approval and confirmation process.

Thx for posting the link. I agree. People were nasty - probably jealous - with the comments. I seriously don't know how I'd react, but from the start the loud annoying lady was talking about how the winner was crying. I just think people need to chill out and be happy for the winner. Congrats to her

(I wonder how many times she messed with her hair )

I keep thinking ya know they make products for that. as for people being nasty I think they expected a different reaction is all. She may have been nervous but she looked like she couldn't care less. ya gotta figure millions of people entered that sweep and probably a big chunk of them would have reacted differently. To me she looked like she was ticked off that her party was interrupted. Im sure it is an odd feeling having a strange lady and camera in your face but hey, put the Valium and wine down and smile.

I guess if I ever win, I can expect the mean, nasty, and judgemental comments too. I'll react the way that's normal for me not the way others expect me to. :headbang: I'd be annoyed and bothered with a woman like that going on and on and not getting out of my house. :cussing: :boxing: :fired: :hammer:
