How open and honest are you?

Can you be yourself on the internet? Do you feel like you have to take on a different persona or are you comfortable being yourself?

I am comfortable being myself. What you see on here is what you get IRL  Except maybe more laughs in real life. I don't take myself seriously or much else for that matter. I've never felt a need to try and be someone I'm not even though nobody would ever know the difference.

So, what about you?

very much the same , easy going , not much different in real life  but the forum makes you a personality all your own and people see you as they see you type :headbang:

:sunny: I am pretty much the same online as I am in real life. Don't feel any need to try to be something that I am not. I know lots of people are nothing online as they are in person after doing online dating. It was amazing to me why someone who was wanting to meet someone would lie especially if they they were going to meet someone face to face. There are some real liars and fakes on the dating sites. Most of them were alot more fun online then they were in person. Not to mention pics people post that were taken many years ago.

Whatcha see is whatcha get with me. I don't try to be anyone but, myself. Now, I'm not an open book. Not even with family but, everything I post here and on the net is how I would respond in real life as well.

Honestly, I am less intimidating here. I have learned that many times people cannot interpret the written word as it is meant because they cannot see the emotion that goes with it. So, I play nicer here than in real life.

I have a very sarcastic wit and really reserve that, online, for people who really "get" me. Everybody else gets nice Wolfie. I know I have a hard edge, so I try to tone it down. I also swear less online. (unless it is private, like e-mail or something). No, I don't swear like a trucker, but living with one has definitely added to my vocabulary. My grandfather would be ashamed.

I hope I am a nice person IRL. I think I am. I just know that what I type, is really subject to misinterpretation, so I make an extra effort to make sure it is appropriate. Something I wouldn't necessarily have to do IRL as people know me and know how to take me. Of course, now that I think about it, my mother did call me a witch today, but it didn't start with a W!

Did I mention I am longwinded when I type things out. I always want to make sure everything is covered!

 You know your in trouble when your mom calls you the b word. :crazytongue: I can honestly say that my mom never called me any names. Although I can think of a couple of times she should have.

I think everybody online and IRL knows my life story...my sister swears that is how come I don't have gray hair yet...I tell everything I know about myself and hold nothing in!

I have an ultra laid back personality...I try to find humor in everything and I love to laugh, even when I am the butt of the joke! I can't stand to have people mad at me ~ my sisters always called me a sap!

I think I have a pretty accurate picture of myself...even though some people have told me not to post so much online about my real life...I just can't seperate the two! I am who I am ~ toot toot

I'm very open and honest. But I think sometimes that gets me introuble. :nono: So lately I think more before I post something. :crazytongue:

 I'm pretty much the same online as in real life. I don't try to make myself out to be something
I'm not. Like showing pics. of myself from years ago or saying I am a hot 25 yr. old

Only online I think I come across as more quieter than I really am. I don't think I am as funny online, like
some people are able to be. This is the only website I participate in, I don't speak with people on other ones.

It's easier for me to talk in person, than write it all down!

I really appreciate your replies, guys!

I asked that question for a couple of reasons. One being that I see so many people on-line being disingenuous for whatever reason. I'm not talking about lying to preserve their personal info such as name, address, etc. I'm talking about pretending to have a certain persona on-line, one that I would almost bet doesn't parallel with their persona IRL. It seems everyone on-line is rich, good-looking, and doesn't have a problem one. I am broke, kinda cute, and have my fair share of issues

The other reason I asked this question is because even though I've only been logged in for a grand total of 1 day, 18 hours, and 4 minutes, I've chatted on the board and in PMs with some really wonderful people. People who I feel like I've known my entire life and people I'd love to meet IRL. That speaks volumes because I don't particularly like people on-line or in general  Not that I go around cussing people out or giving them dirty looks, but we usually keep to ourselves because there doesn't seem to be many nice, genuine people left in the world. It's like Satan chewed them all up and spit them back out as a$$holios

This particular board is full of really nice people and I find that SO refreshing! Am I a ray of freaking sunshine everyday? Uh, no, but it feels really good to be able to come here and have all of that change by seeing half the board congratulating the winners in the Winners Circle or someone helping someone else with a sweep or any other issue. With all of the bad in the world, it feels nice to experience some good!

I am who I am here or there; but, apparently, others have a problem with that! So, maybe I should pretend to be like everyone else! :error:

I am me I am what I am akakakakak as popeye would say or was that someone else who said that.

Because of who I am it has gotten me banned from another site but I will not compromise my beliefs.

I agree people don't see the emotion behind the written word sometimes buy as a whole I think we can pretty much see who a person is by their writing style.

LMAO!! Red, you get a pass. Just lie to me for now on

LIDARKSIDE-what exactly do others have a problem with in regards to you? If you meant my "band hair" comment, that was sorta a jest. While it's true I don't like the "band hair" look, I would never dislike you or anyone else for that reason. In fact, I would dislike anyone who disliked anyone for a shallow reason such as that. Did that make sense? LOL

Some of us are more "outgoing" than others for various reasons. Doesn't make the less outgoing ones bad people. I think it makes them interesting. I like the challenge of figuring someone out. If we were all the same, life wouldn't be nearly as fun!!

I've chatted with some psycho crazy a$$es on-line who I do believe are just as psycho IRL  They definately weren't portraying to be anybody other than themself!!!

I agree. I agree we can't always see the inflection or emotion behind a post, but for the most part I think we get a general idea. If you know a person's "style," you usually "get" what they are saying.

And cin, why anyone would want to ban you from a site is beyond me!! I've never gotten the impression that you were mean, cruely opinionated or anything else like that for that matter! I can't wait to catch up on The Tudors so I can chat with ya about it!!

My comment was a generalization. It wasn't relating to anything in particluar. It had more to do with being in the "group think" which I'm not party to. In reality, I am who I am. I'm not concerned about what other people think of it, and I'm not concerned about what other people do in their lives.

As for outgoing, you're not going find many more outgoing than me! :crazytongue:
