Scared the Crap outta me. omg! I did my sweeps and said, im going back to bed. Laid down and felt the entire bed start shaking. Felt like my 90 lb dog was on the bed scratching himself. the whole bed was moving. Not funny. Im still shaking.

They are very scary. During the World Series back in the 1980s, my sister was at Candlestick when the quake hit San Fransisco. Ironically, she won a contest to go to the WS.

The whole thing was shaking above her and she said all she could think was it was the end of her life. You can't run either, you are thrown around too much.

I'm glad you are ok tho!

Thanks. Well, I get to add something else to my list of things I have gone through

3 Hurricanes~ one a cat 3. scary.
2 tornado's
1 Ice Storm
1 earthquake

All in the last 4 years. Im good for awhile I think.

5.4 quake rocks Illinois; felt 350 miles away
Temblor appears to rival strongest recorded in the Midwest

WEST SALEM, Ill. - A 5.4 earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people awake up to 350 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered 6 miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati and Milwaukee, 350 miles north of the epicenter, but there were no early reports of injuries or significant damage.

The quake occurred in the Illinois basin-Ozark dome region that covers parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas and stretches from Indianapolis and St. Louis to Memphis, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Did anyone feel the quake this morning? Any stories to tell?

OMG!!

So glad you are OK but wow!! I don't blame you for being rattled. Not one bit. I can't tell you how petrified I would have been.

Me being 2 hours from Cincy, I didn't feel anything. I wonder if Tammy felt it.

Again, glad you are OK, Tracey  Were hubby and the kids home? If so, are the little ones OK emotionally?

Just saw on the news that a building came down in Louisville, KY because of this earthquake. I can't remember how far from Louisville Tammy said she was

ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! aftershock!!!!!! another one!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole house is freaking shaking.

I had bullet for my valentine blaring. :headbang: I was gripping the desk and screaming like an infant. I dont like this at all. Im all weird now like I have had 20 pots of coffee. Im worried about the kids at school. I know they felt it.

Oh, hun...I'd be worried too about the kids. They'd be stuck there for I'd have no way of going and getting them.

It'd be nice if the school just let them all come home for the day.

Maybe it's about time for that drink. Afterall, it's 5 o'clock somewhere

:sleepy: Yep, was sleeping and the quake woke me up.... Lived in CA for 25 years and never felt one like this. Pretty scary......

I didn't feel anything...slept through the whole thing  Jimmie and Caitlyn both woke up...so did my sister ~ now I can say that I can sleep through a earthquake :crazytongue: I turned on the local news to hear about it...haven't felt the aftershocks either...I know this is weird, but I want to at least feel an aftershock to know what I am looking for!
