Thanks to my peripheral neuropathy I nearly cooked the fingers off on my right hand before I realized I was on fire :nono:-my first thought after seeing how extensive the damage was was "well now I'll have to use the mouse left handed"...talk about not having a life

ohhh noo. Thats something I would do. Except I would know right away I was on fire. I hope your hands ok. I have no idea what those medical terms mean.

Girl! You need to be more careful! I have a habit of burning myself all the time because, I don't pay close attention but, I know right away. ((Hugs))

You know, I think fingers actually taste better when they are a little rare myself, but that is my personal taste...I just cooked mine the other day!!

Girl be careful! I miss you to much when you aren't on here!!

Mine is my feet - I smacked my right foot on the coffee table on xmas and by the time I even realized I'd done it (peripheral neuropathy means never knowing you hurt yourself until it's too late :crazytongue:  ) I thought for sure I'd at least broken 4 toes!!!

I didn't, but the top of my foot turned ugly shades of blue/green/yellow & black over the ensuing days

Since it didn't really hurt, I put on shoes & went out & then the base of all my toes turned black, ewwwwwww!!! :nono:

So tharedhead, I hear ya, and I feel ya - ALWAYS be in the alert wench!!! :crazytongue:

If you're going to talk medical gargen you need to explain it to us lay people

 It means redhead turned her fingers into fried fingers-on-a-bone! Seriously, I feel bad for you about the hand injury. Have you seen a doctor yet? You certainly do not want to get your hand/fingers infected.

Ouch! I was cleaning my kids' room about a month and a half ago and as I was backing up with a dresser I tripped over a toy and dropped the dresser on my foot. I am sure the neighbors down the street heard the cursing and houses are spread out here.

I cut the tip of my big toe almost off and I scraped the top of my foot where it bruised. The bruise is actually still there and that area is still tender. My husband freaked, he demanded to know why I was moving furniture by myself (like I always do) and why in the he$$ I wasn't wearing shoes. He ran through the house looking for peroxide and banages, which we had neither so he called someone and went to get some. After I was done taking care of my foot I went back in there and moved the dresser to where I was going to put it. Stubborn, I know.

I am always getting hurt somehow and like you, I also have a problem with kicking or stepping on things. :nono: I hope your foot feels better.

miki - do you feel it when it happens or not until later, if at all?

Before I hurt my back/got sick (fibro?) I was an athlete and somewhat graceful. :crazytongue:

Back nthen, I'd have felt my foot hitting the table and would have pulled back, limiting the damage - now, unless I see/hear it, by the time my nerves transmit the pain, it's too late!!!

If you are like that, you should get checked out wench!!! :nono:

 So sorry to hear that! Hope it doesn't take too long to heal. Please try to be more careful, we sure miss you when you aren't around.

I'm really sorry to hear of your health problems. I do feel the pain, only time I don't is when my nerves are pinched and my leg is kind of numb which seems to have gotten better. I was just sharing that I seem to always get hurt somehow, I am thankful that I don't have the health problems such as those you are both going through and wish no one had to endure what you both suffer with everyday. (I hope that came out right). I didn't notice where you mentioned you didn't feel it until it was too late, sorry I missed that (I feel a little silly for sharing now), I couldn't imagine what that is like.

You bring up a good point though, not that I need to get checked out for the reasons you stated, I am due (way overdue) for a complete physical and blood work up. I have been too chicken to call a clinic, not to mention I don't have insurance but, it is about time.

I am now the proud owner of a set of silicon oven mits, which my roommate is going to superglue to my hands in future before I go in the kitchen:laughing:
Amy, I know exactly what you mean about the feet-my neuro has me wearing light, thin soled shoes because they provide better feedback when I walk and keep me from tearing my knees up (by stomping all the time) but they provide no protection from furniture! :crazytongue:
I discussed the injury with the nurse, and doc called in some mind bogglingly expensive ointment to go on it (thank goodness for insurance!), and its bandaged so the kittens can't lick it off.
Miki, if you want me to look up low cost clinics in your area...? If there is a teaching hospital anywhere nearby, they often have special programs for the uninsured. And you get to see all these cute, overly serious interns. :sunny:

When you said peripheral, I thought you just couldn't see that they were on fire

OMG, lady! Can you at least post a pic?
