Holy Moly Gas Prices!

It's over $4.20 just over the border from me. Here is is $3.98 and up.

I read today that demand is falling and the dollar is gaining strength. The only problem is the strife in Nigeria. Since they are one of the Major suppliers of US oil, any conflict in the area will cause the oil prices to rise. Let's hope for some sort of peace there. After all, I have to go there to collect the inheritance on 20 of my closest relatives next week!

$4?? It's nearly 4.50 around here. :cussing:

I had to gas up two of mycars. The Mercedes SUV was almost $150!!! :cussing:

David's Tundra was over $100.

My sister has a Mitsubishi galant an it cost her $51. Geez.

yep. 4.00 here. We got rid of the silverado and bought a mini van a couple of weeks ago. Its better on gas and we needed one anyway. It kinda sucks the children are no longer within smacking distance but what ya gonna do. just kidding btw...

We wont be going to FL this summer thats for sure. It would cost way to much in gas to drive down there.

That's the only reason I don't like our Range Rover

And good on you for including the "BTW"...I can see the other mods and adms. reading through a gazillion pissy PMs

You stop the car and stare at them.

Of course, living in the country, I can do that.

My kids know the rulse. Tick me off in the car, do NOT ask me for anything later on.

Well.. that's my story and I'll stick to it

We use too much gas, which is why the price is so high. Oil producing countries don't care if we're in recession because there are plenty of customers for their oil now, like China and India. The article explains how we lost our way.

We live in the country now so basically we can afford only get enough gas to pay for dh to get back and fourth to work in town everyday. It's insane and makes absolutely NO sense at all. They are pocketing billions of $$ in profits and gloating about it so I don't see why the gasoline must be so high.

We spend $100 and up a week for gas and we just use 1 vehicle. Hubby is looking into spending 1/2 of the rebate check on a small car instead of getting a new motor for the truck. He has a co-worker who wants a few hundred for a car he isn't driving.

I guess I should care more about why gas is so high because it does piss me off but I just don't. So many reasons as to why and people believe different things. I just know it makes me scared, sad, and mad.

Trust me, if it was even a little bit convenient, hubby would be biking his butt to work and we'd stock up on groceries a month in advance, and so forth and so on. But the reality of MY world is that it is NOT convenient for us to do those things. We could trade in the RR, but I won't even hear of it. Hubby earned every bit of that ride by getting hit by a drunk driver. We have the Toyota Sweepstakes that he drives back and forth to work and I drive it to do the shopping and run errands when he's not using it. I choose to keep it so you really won't hear me complaining. Much

Trace-our neighbors just had their mini van fixed. When they told me how good it was on gas I about crapped my shorts! I had no idea!

hmmm...

looks at family tree.

Nope, no chocoholic wolves on our tree.

I'm safe

Oh, so you have a problem with chocoholic Wolves do you! I'll have to consult with my advisors as to how to handle this situation! :headbang: :fired:

I already have two foxes and Artie is pretty much a vegetarian or his meat has to be cooked...

Thats enough weird animals for me!

Hypermiling is becoming a big topic of interest these days, and skillful driving can increase the miles you get from your tank. The article I'm posting here was about a world's record: 75 mpg and traveling over 1,000 miles in an unaltered car. I'm experimenting with this, hoping to get 40 mpg or so from my Yaris.

Wait, you're driving a ROLLS ROYCE...which one? DH's friend Laurie has a Silver Shadow (it was his Dad's, it pretty much sits in the garage)
My exlandlord just converted his diesel truck to burn vegetable oil. He owns a resturant. Now he can drive around smelling like fish-we figured it up and this will save him $600 a month!

Ours is $3.95 a gallon today ~ tomorrow who knows. Jimmie and I are talking about him quitting his job and him getting one closer to home for less money ~ talk about a rock and a hard place!
