Will you go check the mail for me?

I just got home, seen a long ugly blackish colored snake near my neighbors mailbox so I ran it over, I don't know if it's dead or not and now I am paranoid that there might be more (it's hot as heck and humid!!). I'm so scared of the snakes out here, I'm too afraid to go and check my mail, even if there are any wins waiting for me in the box! I was even afraid to go in my backyard to clean out water troughs for the animals but, I did it! As for going back up front? Heck no, not yet anyways...

BTW, My mailbox is across the street by a field, ditch and lot's of brush. I'll give Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways!! Pretty please?!

Seriously, I called dh just now and asked him to check it when he comes home, he wasn't in much of a mood since he was trying to hook up a flatbed in this heat and having trouble with it. I'm sure he is either :cussing: me or :laughing: at me.
 
LMFAO!! Miki, I just pictured you barreling down on that snake with sheer determination :laughing:

My mailbox is in the same exact predicament as yours and I hardly ever check the mail. Not since the snapping turtle incident. I think I poopied a little in my panties :laughing:

lol, I backed up just so that I could get into a position to run it over. :laughing:

Ping, most of the snakes I have seen out here are poisonous, I'd rather stay far away from ALL snakes just to be safe here. The other day dh ran over a rattlesnake with no buttons (what kind is that??) about 2-3 times and it still slithered off after trying to attack the car.

I should go check it and not be a sissy. :nono:

What about snapping turtles that are the size of medium-sized dogs and hiss and charge?? I ran completely out of my shoes and the SOB ran away with them!

I love turtles but, your evil turtle is just the type that would probably turn me away from helping them....or ever checking the mail again. :laughing:

I normally pull over and help turtles cross the street whenever I see them in the middle of the road. I have been hissed at many times but, they are always little turtles.

Dead snake-do you need some recipes? :scratch: I prefer snake breaded and fried but some people just boil it with rice....
 
Little my :booty" , that thing was huge!

Ok, I just put on my big girl panties, waited for trucks to finish going by because, you know I have to run back if I see anything. I tip toe over there and look carefully, stand a few feet back from the box and grab the mail. I turn around and there are 3-4 cars/trucks passing so I am thinking "Great, something comes out I am either getting eaten by it or ran over by a car" :laughing:

On the bright side, couldn't see the snake so he might have slithered off. I also got 2 coupons from EAS for a free bar and a mad magazine, oh and a pouch of rice from uncle bens.

uh oh... hope peta doesnt see this. :laughing: I used to catch snakes when I was a kid. They dont bother me. And I have picked up more turtles than I can count.. even big snapping ones. I carried a huge one to the lake by our old house in FL.. however, let one of those little lizards run up my leg and I freak!.. I had one run up my pant leg into my underwear.. now, I didnt know at the time that it was a lizard I just knew something ran up my leg into my underwear... I pulled my pants down right in the backyard to get that sucker out. scared the crap outta me.
 
LMAO @ the lizard thing. I love those tiny lizards, they came in my house often last year but, I haven't seen any this summer yet. I could just picture you getting naked in the backyard, LOL.

Eh, I don't care much for peta so they can say what they want to me. I don't always try to kill snakes but, when they are that close to my house, I think of my animals and kids' safety.

I was driving yesterday and a flock of little birds flew up from the edge of the road and flew in front of me. I had to close my eyes because, I hit about 3-4 of them! I was so sad about it, my son had to tell me "Mama, they are in a better place now, don't be sad". I always try to miss animals/birds. Never hit a bird before, so sad. I have 4 birds of my own. :cry:

I have hit birds, rabbits and squirrels.. Im not gunning for them or anything but im not going to have an accident to avoid them either. :laughing:
That was a sweet thing for your son to say. Mine would probably bust out with an evil laugh. Just kidding.. only one would. :whistle:
 
Can you believe this, after I read and laughed at all the remarks about the snakes I scrolled to the top of the page and there was Google ad for an electronic snake repeller. That really made my day! :sunny:

That happened to me once on here, it was Champagne's thread about her ring. I scrolled to the bottom post and a banner with ring sales was there. :scratch:
 
That is because google add placement is based on the key words in our discussion. If we were talking about blood, you'd see adds for the red cross. :)
