widescreen vs full screen

which do ya prefer? I like widescreen. Full screen leaves out to much. perfect example, star wars episode three(the only decent one out of the new btw) in full screen is awful. its amazing the difference ya see with widescreen. I bought full screen by mistake and ended up giving it to my brother and buying it again in widescreen.

LMAO - I thought you meant type of TV's at 1st!!!

I call it letterbox - Turner Classic Movies channel had a great little show explaining the difference - I think Opie (Ron Howard) was the host?

Anywho... Bob hates it & I LOVE it - I'm with you - you see so much more of what's going on!!!

I have a widescreen tv, so I rent/buy widescreen movies....
I agree you see so much more and get a better "feel" for a movie in widescreen.

Great example... I dont think alot people realize how much of the movie they lose with full screen.

I have widescreen TV so I like it better but a lot of times I watch fullscreen because I don't like the black spaces on either side of the screen.

I don't have a widescreen TV so I usually buy Full Screen DVD's. I didn't realize that pieces of the movies will be missed if you go with Full Screen. I just don't like that black strip on the top and bottom of the movie. Bugs me...

Hopefully this means no one will be buying full screen movies anymore. so I will have a better selection at the used dvd store. :laughing: probably not.

It doesn't really matter to me. I buy lots of used movies, so it just depends what is there, if theres a full screen, I will buy it, if theres a widescreen, I will buy it. I tend to want the full screen though. :sunny:
