Received an email today stating I was drawn for a Runner Up Prize $400 gift card for their products!!! Been in a drought lately but this sure made my day!! Congrats to Danielle who won the sleep system!! Thanks Natural Form Sleep Systems and, of course, SA who makes it so easy to enter!!!! :headbang:

We are thinking this is a scam because alot of people have gotten that email today. I got the same one as well.

NOT a scam:

Naturalform.Com - Mattress Sweepstakes
(1) Natural Form Queen Size Garden Sleep System Mattress Value $2258
Restrictions : 18+ US | Hits : 1364 | Added : 02-26-12 | Expired : 02-28-2012 | Rules

Entry Category : One Entry Sweepstakes

It's logical for Naturalform to think that people entering to win just might be looking to replace their bed, so the consolation prize of almost 1/2 off makes sense since sponsors use their marketing $$$ to run promos.

That said, bummer you didn't win the GP! NEXT!!! :crazytongue:

I received this also. I am always wary of receiving runner up gift cards when there is nothing to buy for that amount. they want you to purchase something a lot more expensive. this is a scam.

Not a SCAM...a "promotional opportunity"..lol! If anyone needs a bed, at least you get $400 off the purchase of one.I won a $500 gift card to Shaw floors last year.Yes,it meant I had to buy their products..BUT..I added some of my own money and was able to put laminate wood flooring in 2 bedrooms for less that $150.So,if you're not in the market for a new mattress, try selling or trading the gift cards if you can.SOMEONE out there may need it! Congrats to all of you!! I musta forgot to enter that one!

I was a "winner" of this scam, too. There was one winner of a bedding system (and congratulations to them), but everyone who entered "won" a $400 credit against a purchase. However, they don't seem to have anything that sells for less than $1,600, so all you really "won" is a 20% discount. That's not a "win." It's a scam. I plan to take action against it.

Natural Form is headquartered at:
WCW, Inc.
The Natural Form® Company
Hoosick Falls, New York

The Attorney General for New York is Eric T. Sneiderman and you can file a complaint on the official website:

I intend to file a complaint against the company and request an investigation. I hope others do so as well. If they hear from enough people, they'll respond. These people need to learn a lesson.

Not everyone that entered won the $400 discount. I know first hand. I entered and DID NOT receive the discount. This IS NOT a scam. I thought this was a very generous offer from a sponsor of the contest. They certainly are not the first sponsor to offer discounts to non winning entries. My feeling is that by so many people making a fuss over this sponsors may decide to quit having sweepstakes. If you don't want it, decline!!

I also won the $400 gc. I responded to their email and have not heard back from them. I also called their telephone number & it is an answering machine!

deaconmac - You entered the sweeps, didn't win, and they offered you a discount, and you get scam out of that?

So you are saying that Natural Form is wrong in thinking anyone who entered just *might* be in the market for a new bed? And if they aren't, they should "take action against it"?

I honestly don't understand this line of reasoning. I didn't enter this sweeps - did their privacy policy not make clear that by entering you agree to further contact/emails/offers?

IMHO, it's perfectly logical for Naturalform to think that people entering to win just might be looking to replace their bed, so the consolation prize of $$$ off to purchase the product offered as the prize makes sense since sponsors use their marketing $$$ to run promos.

If Natural Form IS breaking the law, what law would that be?

I won the runner up as well. If the website ever gets fixed, I might be able to buy a dogbed or matresstopper for my win. When I go to the site all it shows me is the beds. But it lists sheets etc. and you have to click on that to go to that part of the site. Well, it always goes back to the beds....
I wasn't surprised not to be able to contact anybody as it is the weekend - maybe I need to re-read my prize notification...

I think some of you are missing the crucial points that identify this as a scam, not a "win."

The email I received did not simply offer a discount for those who entered but did not win. That would have been a reasonable and even appreciated marketing effort. The email said: "Congratulations! I’m writing to inform you that your recent entry in the Natural Form “Win a Bed” sweepstakes was drawn for a Runner Up prize in the form of a $400 gift card." That implies that there was a Runners Up prize (though the rules never mentioned that), and that some people actually won something of value. They are trying to convince people that they won something in hopes of making some additional sales.

But the "gift card" is restricted. It can't be used for the sheets or other bedding sold by this company. It can't be used for mattress covers or pillows or any other product selling for $400 or less. It can ONLY be used "towards the purchase of any Natural Form Sleep System currently offered." The price of those systems starts at about $1,600, which means this "gift card" is really offering, at best, a 20% discount on bedding systems. You can get a better deal than that just walking into any mattress store.

That's not a win, and it should not have been characterized as such.

There will always be unhappy people like "deaconmac" who expect everything for free. Last month I won $1000 off at my local Jeep dealer via scratch off I received in the mail. When I realized I couldnt get a 2012 Jeep Cheroke with my $1000 winners ticket (LOL), my immediate reaction was not to spend the remainder of my day filling out "scam" reports. Instead, I was happy for the 1 winner of the Jeep and I moved on. The Natural Form email states we were "runner-up" for the "win a bed" sweepstakes; so obviously, the runner up prize will be less than the first place prize; $400 towards a new mattress is a generous win.
I did a little digging on this company and (as deaconmac states incorrectly) Natural Form is NOT headquartered in Hoosick Falls; their headquarters are currently in Vermont. It would appear that any investigation with this Natural Form would be a dead end; as they seem without a doubt to be a credible company; supplying mattresses to Hilton Garden Inns worldwide, Hospitals worldwide and of course residential homes worldwide. Im a very loyal Sleep Number customer, unless of course I won a free mattress somewhere else ;) congratulations to the winner and the runner-ups!

I hope you will think twice before insulting anyone in public again.

No, I don't "expect everything for free," and I don't deserve your ridicule. Mind your manners. Personal attacks should have no place in these forums, especially when you clearly don't know the people you are attacking. And you are incorrect about the location of the company. They may have an office in Vermont, too, but they are registered in Hoosick Falls and so state on their website.
