I enter a ton of daily facebook contests but my question is why are so many of them constantly throwing a 400 error message or saying bad cookies or something and not working ? This makes me crazy !

It's a pain to do it, but deleting your cookies can help. THEN you have to remember all those passwords. It's not a win win!
I clear cookies/temp files after every sweeps session, then when it's a new entry day, I login to FB {and various sites like GO/ESPN/DISNEY, etc.} and then load the sweeps pages and enter.
I've noticed if I load the page and wait too long to enter, it will either ask me to LIKE them {already have} or it will throw an error when I try to enter & reloading/refreshing the page usually works.
