need support

i have been having alot of serious health issues for a long time and nothing seemed to work and i was getting worse. it was at the point that i needed caregivers 24 hrs a day. well last week the drs did a test on me and come to find out i have no vit d2, not just low in me and it is very important to have it.so all this time i have been thinking that since i taken my meds every day for my other problems that i be fine,i find out i was not getting better because that was not the problem.as soon as the results came in they called me and told me to get to the pharmacy and get my first dose in me.i have to take 50,000 mg twice a week for 8 weeks then i get another test done to check my levels.when we looked up the symptoms of not having this vit it described me to the tee.what i need support is we are hoping that we can reverse the damage that is done and that i can have a normal life again.this d2 takes a long time to get to this point so we dont know when it began, this process will take a long time to get the levels where they need to be. i am so thank full that someone finally found the reason i been so sick.thanks for listening. kandy

Hi, Kandy!

Before I finished reading your post, I was thinking, the good news is that you found out that you have no vitamin 2D, and you are doing what you can to change that. Then, you finished with the same thought. Sorry to hear this happened and that the reversal will be a slow process, but it sounds like you are in good hands and you are a good compliant patient. I wish you the best, and hope you can take it day by day, without worrying too much, and will feel better just knowing you are on the right track during the long process.

Hugs,

arrtup3

I feel the same arrtup3 ... I am a nurse and always tell my patients ( as well as myself ) as long as there is hope and treatment we are good . It is when they say there is nothing more to be done .. that is the time to be concerned . Hope and pray you make a rapid recovery xo

Intuitively, I feel this is the key -- "as long as there is hope and treatment we are good" - with the patient being an active and informed part of the team, which I am sure Kandy is. I really appreciate the role of nursing, and good nurses. There is so much unseen good that nurses do, so thank you!

Yes, good thoughts and prayers for Kandy, and thanks for sweeping too, when we have time, it can be positive, rewarding and take our minds off other things when we need to.
