A Coca-Cola Sweepstakes Olympics Team USA Pom Beanie! Perfect timing because I just lost my Miller Lite beanie that I won a few years ago and resorted to wearing the Nathan's Hot Dog hat because its been cold here in KY. People kept asking what's on my hat! LOL I've been keeping track of my wins since 2/21 as a full time sweeper and this hat is #35. I'm not a very good sweeper! LOL I read where someone enters everything they are eligible for, but I don't want to waste my "luck" on things I don't want nor need. Plus then if you win something and you can't use it, then you are taking it away from sweepers that would love to win it! That's my frame of mind regarding sweeps! I hope great prizes are offered this year for the contest entry world!

Congrats on a win you’ll actually use. As someone who has won my share of sweepstakes, I’m glad to hear your strategy. I don’t need/want a closet full of can koozies, t-shirts I’ll never wear, keychains, you get my drift. If sponsors can’t give away anything but advertising swag, maybe they shouldn’t be having sweepstakes. Just my opinion.

I like your sweep logic some things are just not worth the effort or the taxes if applicable

Congratulations! I have become selective in what I enter. If I can use it or a family member can use it and it’s valued under $600 with zero tax liability then I probably enter. Trips and cars are a huge no no , hyper inflated value and taxed accordingly

Since I've retired and don't file taxes anymore, I found that when I won the $10,000 from HGTV years ago, since my SS check is so low, that $ I won didn't even bump me up to the next tax bracket...and I paid NO tax on it! Yahoo! LOL But I don't enter contests if you have to pay tax $ upfront (which I don't have) unless they ALSO include extra $$ for taxes, nor any trips, unless I can bring my dog (I check if hotel is pet friendly before I enter). Like you, if I can use it or my great grandkids or if I can donate it to our senior bldg bingo and its practical (seniors here do NOT need anymore tchotchkes! LOL), I will enter. As you can see now why I don't win much!!! lol I usually steer away from anything like a Disney trip to let families win. I've always been like that with contests. I think its good karma not to be greedy. When I was working and there was a radio station contest, I'd speed dial the station # in co-workers phones and tell them the song of the day and when I won, there were still some sourpuss coworkers mad I won. I even bought sandwiches and salads to share cos I won at work!
