Advice on prize being taken away

I received this email about the 2 weeks of the Zone 1-2-3 Food that I recently won, it says they are taking away my prize. My reply is underneath this. I am very disappointed, as my budget is so tight right now, that is why I enter the giveaways for food. I have even had to fast because I have not had money for food. I would appreciate any advice.

On positive note, I will sleep on a mattress for the first time in 6 months tonight! I have not won that many things since I started entering sweeps in September, the mattress and the 2 weeks of Zone foods have been the biggest prizes and such a blessing.

I received an email form Zone Diet that you have won this prize before.
Zone Diet clearly stated above the Zone 1-2-3 Foods entry form that if anyone
had won the prize before or was entered on to win the prize on another blog they could not enter.
This is to give everyone a chance to win.

I have been asked to choose another winner.
I apologize for any inconvience this may cause, but that rule was clearly stated.

This also put me in a uncomfortable situation with the sponsor (Zone Diet).
I work hard to keep sponsors of Free Hot Samples giveaways happy so
they will sponsor more giveaways for my readers in the future.

I have not been notified that I won this prize before. In November I won a prize of 3 Zone meal replacement shakes and shaker cup.

I hope that you will bring this to their attention and think that they will reconsider their decision.

I am on such a tight budget at the moment, this prize would be such a blessing.

I received a reply and the blogger contacted the sponsor and was waiting for a reply. I am very pleased with that. I trust that things will work out for the highest good of all.

I received word that the sponsors will not award me the second Zone diet win and that a new winner has been chosen for the giveaway. Here is more info on what happened, any comments or advise is welcome. I could write the sponsor a cordial letter stating that I believe that I rightfully won the second price of "two weeks of Zone diet food $179), in addition to the 3 shakes and shaker.

I won the prizes on 2 different blogs, several weeks apart. I had searched for weight loss sweeps that provide food because I want to lose more weight and the food would be such a blessing. The link for the 1st one (prize 3 shakes and shaker for the Zone diet) is listed above.

It clearly states - "The sponsor of this giveaway request that you only enter if you have not won this prize before, or are not currently entered to win it on another blog."

I had not won "this prize" before (the 2 weeks of food - $179), I won 3 Zone shakes and shaker....so I entered the giveaway - I never thought twice about it. I understand the sponsor wanting as many people as possible to try their product with the least marketing dollars, but their restriction does not say "if you have won any Zone diet prize", it specifically states "this prize". I did not enter to win this prize in another place, at least not intentionally. I do not think it is fair to not give me the 2nd prize that I won in accordance with the rules.

I have only been sweeping for a few months and I learned a lot about bloggers and sponsors through this experience and that I need to put more thought into choosing which sweeps to enter and to err on the side of caution when there are restrictions. I am still thrilled to have won the shakes and feel lucky to have won them. I am sure the person who wins will be delighted and I wish them many blessings, as well as the blogger and the sponsor.

I am disabled and on a fixed income and have limited work possibilities. Entering the sweeps is such fun, keeps me busy and makes me feel like I am doing what I can to improve my circumstances.

I avoid blog sweeps and this is the biggest reason why.

You've done what you could to assure them you weren't trying to cheat, and they've already reawarded, so yes, reassess how/what you enter and GL2U!!! :sunny:
 
:wave: So sorry that didn't work out for you. Just chalk it up as a learning experience. It's best now to just move forward. Don't waste your energies dwelling on it and instead get to entering for the things that you want to win. Best of luck to you.
P.S. Not that it means anything, but I think you should have been given the prize. I also do not do blogs, just because the rules are usually so vague and they are time consuming.
