I have known for a few days now but, I wasn't allowed to announce until I received my prize. It was killing me!
Sometimes you just have to try, even if you don't think you have a chance in hell to acheive the goal. If you do, then and only then can you say that you have made an accomplishment whether you "win" or not, you have won just by giving it your best shot in the first place. I enjoy sitting down and using my word program to write, I am able to correct my spelling and use "bigger" words to express what I am trying to say. I don't use it in the forums or letters and I really didn't put as much heart and soul as I could have in this essay/story but, I did what I could at the time.
I have made accomplisments in my life, we all have. I must say though that my recent and personal accomplishment is writing. I have had an article published in the local newspaper and today? I won the American Idol essay/story contest. I couldn't have done it without your help. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the votes and encouragement with this contest. I tend to "beat" myself up often and when something such as this happens, it's a rare moment where I am actually proud of myself. Sometimes you need something like this win or the publishment, it gives you the encouragement to work on the flaws you possess and try even harder with the next one.
All this said, I want to thank all of you again for making this happen. Without your help, it wouldn't have made it to the top. You are all amazing and I appreciate your help. I also want to thank thecelebritycafe.com and Dominick for putting this contest together. Those who think it's a waste of time entering contests with them? I beg to differ and encourage you to enter. This is the 2nd wonderful contest I have won with them since entering sweepstakes.
The prize of this contest was only $50, so why the rambling about the win? Sometimes, you don't do it just for the prize...
Best wishes to everyone and good luck to my fellow sweepers.
