OMG, "sweepyhead"!! A member over there just directed me to what you are talking about. I am in total disbelief. "He" has definitely lost it. Why can't he just address the accusations instead of raging war on others. Well, I guess I know why he won't address them!! :smt010 I cannot believe that he's going to attack and widow (who hasn't posted anything) and her deceased husband.

If he proceeds with this, I'm wondering if those mentioned can start a class action suit against him.

I just cannot get over this.

I hope that works. I just feel so bad for Michele. I wonder how she's going to be able to deal with the emotional aspect of this. That woman has gone through so much heartache already. I wish the best for her.

Michele is very busy with moving to cheaper digs, so I hope it distracts her from this. I encouraged her to ignore it as best she can, as it's nothing but insane rantings.

Everytime the Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways discussion comes up here, I can't stop thinking of the one SpongeBob episode where him and Patrick are going door to door selling chocolate; and, through it all, there's this one guy trying to hunt them down screaming "CHOCOLATE"!!! They thought he was a nutcase only to find out he was just trying to buy all of their chocolate!!LOL

Well - I *was* from that other site. I was banned mysteriously recently without any explanation. I rarely posted on the forums and always tried to follow the rules (I did one time post a regular vote request in the premium section....oops!)

I don't know anything about Brent and have never said anything about him anywhere. But I do find the latest events very troubling.

Is it legal for him to not refund people? I know it's in the terms and conditions - but that doesn't necessary make it legal.

You have to check their rules, and you may want to check in with the FTC laws/regulations protecting the internet user's rights. I found quite a number of items in the rules that were clearly in violation of those FTC laws/regulations.

Your best bet may be to contact the following and inquire with them since the webmaster is under that state's jurisdiction.

If you find anything out, post it as I know many ex-members have the same question as you. It would be nice to see those get refunds especially when many were banned without any legitimate reason.

I agree with lidarkside, however know that MANY people have not gotten refunds after being banned (I was one of them)
My suggestion, chalk the loss up as an expensive lesson learned on the net :smt010 sorry.

Banned or not, it doesn't matter. If you received a service you didn't pay for you have a right to a refund. Tell the matter to Paypal if you used it, and your credit card company can give you a charge-back. You have to send them a snail mail letter telling them the story, and you can even withhold payment for the $30 (or whatever). According to the credit card law, you have SIX MONTHS to file the claim, so lots of people can do this.

Paypal also has stringent rules about their vendors. If the customer doesn't receive satisfaction, their Paypal account can be frozen. People get ripped off, and don't follow up. Know your rights.

Welcome to all the new members. I am sorry so many of you have had a bad time of it. Please know you are most welcome here, especially those bearing CHOCOLATE! :smt003

Although we are not perfect, we try to have fun. The admin will listen to concerns and suggestions with an open mind and heart. We try not to dwell on other sites as, at least for me, I am very happy here. This was the best prize I have received from the other place.

It's easy for me to say this, since I've had a year and a half, but don't dwell on what happened. Move forward from it. You will see this place is far better, once you get used to the differences.

BTW, for those who don't already know, I was CCS or Cotton Candy Sweeper in my past life. I am proud to be here and to have been welcomed so openly! I just wanted everyone to know who I am.

Thank God I didn't waste my money joining the "other" site.

I registered and asked a couple of questions about the premium paid part in the Newbie forum and was met with immediate accusations that I was attempting to get someone to pay FOR me out of "sympathy".

I never got where that came from. Money or lack of was never the question I had. I had simply just asked what was included IF you paid, etc.......

I found this site and never went back to the other.

I love THIS site and thank you all for making it such a welcoming and nice place to spend my extra time!!!!

I come here most every day and I really enjoy every minute. It is my little escape from reality....while muching on a chocolate hershey sweepstakes bar of course......LOL! :smt002

I'm from the other site and I have to say I like this site way better. Doesn't seem like it has nearly the drama as the other site does and from what I've read so far the people here are way more friendlier.

I don't sweep I just mostly chat and rarely posted at the other site because it seemed to me if you didn't belong in a certain group you were mostly ignored.

...and there's nothing disturbing going on here that is going on today on the internet. This is not only disturbing but sad.

Apparently, someone is trying to block certain conversation and information on the internet by continuously posting the same URL over and over and over again at any site they find out people are discussing mutual concerns in order to suppress any more information from getting out and discouraging people from talking freely.

My guess is that it's the webmaster themself and/or one or more of his mods doing it.

Maybe, sad and disturbing isn't the word for it. Maybe, psychopathic is more appropriate. Hopefully, someone will seek the obvious help they need. :smt009

Both sites have some very nice members, but this site is run by nicer people that treat you with respect. I have been sweeping here exclusively for months after being a member there for years, and very satisfied with this site. You will find most, if not all, the same sweeps here. For free.

Welcome to the newbies.
