Now, Now kids! What I don't understand, (I am not from that other place), why are you all coming over here to vent to each other? Why is any of this even being brought up? I do not care what goes on at some other site.
This has ALWAYS been a nice friendly place and I personally want it to stay that way. Please NO MORE finger pointing or name calling!! Play nice!

We welcome ALL new members here as long as they remain civilized. This site is about sweeping, enjoying the company of other sweepers, helping when we can and giving encouragement. We come here to relax, enter and get away from all the stresses of the day.

Having said all that I wish you all the very best of good luck and look forward to getting to know you all better.

The webmaster decided to create a bunch of threads targeting certain people for no legitimate reason. One of the threads he started is for an attack on SA. Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize that there are members that belong to both sites and post at both sites that they are also attacking.

There is nothing wrong with members venting here as long as they do it in a civilized manner. However, it's irresponsible for someone to come here and attack these members without knowing any facts or what the story is--even documented facts. They blindly defend someone or something without any basis.

I have to agree with pmeek.

I am not a member of the other site either. I visited it once and did the free registration, asked a few general questions in the newbie section and was met with IMMEDIATE hostility. I was accused of trying to "get sympathy so that another member would pay for me to join" and money or lack or thereof wasn't part of ANY of the questions I had asked.

This was back quite some time ago and I haven't been back to the other site and never plan to, but obviously there is major trouble there.

I have been reading this thread and others here on SA and am VERY disappointed that the same hostility is now HERE.

I really enjoy sweeping here and I love all the features and the fact that this site is totally free.

I alsol enjoy the forums (or did) until all this hostility, name-calling and bad vibes started here on SA.

I am a fairly new member here and was so thrilled to have found such a friendly place, but it isn't seeming so friendly anymore. It is seeming more like "the other site" than the SA I originally was so happy to have found.

I realize I can stay out of this thread, but the hostility seems to boil over into other threads and forums as well with comments here and there.

I just wanted to say that I don't like it and I think it should be kept at the other website where the problems originated and where these discussions belong (at least in my opinion).

Can't these discussions be kept in PM's only or private emails? Admin???

This junk is bringing my happy sweeping place down! :smt009

I haven't seen any hostility from any members here. Only civilized venting, and there's nothing wrong with being civil. There have only been about three people who came here from elsewhere to drum up trouble, and I think everyone has done a pretty good job not to be taken down to that level.

However, this is a "Chat About Anything" forum which means any topic can be discussed. I think the members here have done a good job in handling the discussion on this topic.

I believe one poster called it "drama" which is also a good term.

I just don't understand why it is HERE in the first place and why these people can't take their discussions elsewhere and NOT on SA where they do not pertain to anything on THIS site.

Reading all this day in and out the past week has just left me with a bad vibe feeling and NOT the happy, relaxed feeling that USED to be the vibe here on SA.

Just saying.....

....and just wondering if it could possibly be taken to private emails, PM's, IM's...there are SO many other venues of communication on the net....WHY does it have to come here to bring us ALL down?

Well, we're all human; and like I said before there are many people who are members of both sites.

This doesn't even come close to drama. You'd know what I mean if you really saw "drama"!! :smt002

However, like I said before, this is a "Chat About Anything" forum. Members are just using their freedom of speech to do just that, but we also have the freedom to pick and choose which conversations to participate in.

If it's really upsetting you that much, just unsubscribe from the thread and don't look back!! :smt001

People have been banned for well over a year and have been here for longer than that. The only drama that has started is from you, in this thread and from another un-named ! member. SA folks get along just fine until people from ! come over and start bashing on them. Please, if you don't like us here then don't post, we don't need SA to turn into what ! has. I have started a lot of new friendships w/ my former "enemies" by just listening to what they have to say. There are always two sides to every story Captain, please don't close your heart off to others just because you think one person is always right. :smt001

Thanks, everyone, for sharing your opinions. It is the goal of this website to provide a friendly place for sweepers. Most of the time, that's what we get. And we like it that way.

Visitors from OLS are welcome to come here and sweep and chat but are NOT invited to provoke our members.

Let's summarize the situation with the OLS problems, as I understand it. Over the past few years, people have been banned from the site. They have felt that the bannings were unjustified and have said so in other venues. The OLS webmaster has recently posted information at his site naming certain former members and his grievances against them. Is this correct? This obviously continues to be of great importance for those who are/were involved.

But it doesn't belong here.

The matter has been discussed in some SA threads. Discussed in a civil manner with no individuals or websites mentioned by name. Opinions are okay. Most of us here prefer SA, plenty of people are happy at OLS. Many people quietly visit both sites. That's fine. If you don't like it here, please return to your sweeps home. Ours is happier without you.

We like to sweep among friends. Can we please get back to sweeping (and winning!) and leave the animosity at the door. Thanks, and good luck!

Tiny Momo has a stalker and I have a bunch of cheerleaders, thanks to my cheerleaders.

The best thing about the Other Site was the friendship and the people there. That kept people there long after they should have left. We need to remember our good times there and our friendships.

At SA we need to stand strong as a family and not stoop down to name calling, bickering, and fighting. What makes this site so unique from other sites is that it is a family without a lot of pity parties, drama queens and drama llamas. When a war is waged against you then you can stoop to their level or keep your chin up and stand tall.

This is hurting me very much. Nothing that has been said about me is damaging except the lies about the theft of sweepstakes. That and having my dear friend not trust me anymore and deleting herself from my site. I have told the same story about the convention a half dozen times or more and everytime it is almost identical to the last time.

Thank you my dear friends. Now let us drop this and not fight amongst each other. It is time to drop are past arguments elsewhere and be friends. It is time to sweep and have fun. It is time to not feed a narcissist by fighting and name calling.

Rosetea, Hom and all of the wonderful SA members, please don't let this current banter bring you down about SA. When there are problems at another sweeps site, former members get blamed. It's nothing new. We are trying to just let people vent for a while to get it out of their systems.

It's hard to turn the other cheek, trust me, I know it is, but our newer members who have found refuge here, really need to let their frustrations out. I want them to have a safe place to do so. I am willing to let them vent it out because I have been through what many of them are going through. I support them and want them to know that.

I understand that the happy SA family is being shaken up a bit. All I ask is that you wonderful members give it a little time to calm down. Soon the other site's members will have some other thing to obsess about and they will forget about us and move on. Until then, remember that these new members are part of the SA family and I would love to see SA welcome and support them through the rough time. Like I said, I have been there and the members here were so welcoming and supportive, it was incredible.

This will end, we just need to show people what we are all about! Shutting this discussion down would serve no purporse except to validate other's opinions about SA.

On the other side of the coin, I would hope that all members and visitors from any other site would respect the SA membership and, if they post, to do so with respect and compassion.

This my opinion ~ this too shall pass. I agree that sooner or later the stalkers that have been hounding our newest members from the other site will get a life and go away.

Until then, I hope that everything stays in this thread. I think our members have a right to discuss what they went through, that is how friendships form. After they move past that, then they will make more friends with all of the SA family. These are not the "troublemakers" that they have been made out to be. Sometimes it is hard to turn the other cheek.

I just look forward to the day when SA is just a big family again. We are a growing site and with that comes some growing pains. We will survive and come out on the other side stronger and better than ever!!

I just want to say I am from the other site and now I am being stalked. I am here and there to enter sweeps but in the process it would have been nice to have made a few friends however I am sorry to say that is not the case. I know now that everything everyone has said about that site is true and if you happen to mention you went to another site when theirs is down then you have a following and yes it is the same clique that I had read about.

I came here because I needed a place to enter my sweeps while that site was down and I just want to sweep and maybe get to know some of you.

As far as being there yes I will be a member there and I will just not post in any of their forums. If anyone would like to get to know me a little better just PM me.

They carry on like this because they feel threatened by this place. There is absolutely no excuse for adults to behave like this, unless they're certifiably nuts (which I think the webmaster is).

I was a member there when there were about 5,000 members, and it was a great place to hang out and enter sweeps. When did things change? I don't know for sure, but it's been going downhill for at least 2 years, and probably began when they started charging. The unbalanced webmaster has an odd cultlike following that I can't fathom, sort of like the Reverend Jim Jones or David Koresh followers.

Sorry this is happening to you. Some people take forum yakking and winning t-shirts far too seriously. It's a HOBBY, people.

What gets me about that site is when one person doesn't agree with something someone else says or does certain ones immediately make a post and start ridiculing the person they didn't agree with and then everybody starts putting that person down. And none of the mods stops that behavior.

It's beyond childish and rude and shows me they play favorites on that board.
