I'm reading an awesome book called, "Secrets of a city bench." By April love.

It's about a girl who was sexually abused, and she became a prostitute, she meets a man, and he helps her turn away from prostitution, and become a christian. Its a great book. And it shows her struggles and stuff with being a raped survivor.

I can relate alot to this story. I was raped when I was younger. And have alot of issues still with intimacy and stuff. This book talks about that.

Its a fictional story but the author was kidnapped and raped and since then has married, has kids, etc. So alot of this story is kind of based on that.

You can buy it on amazon.

I dont think to many people here would like what I read. scifi/fantasy only. Terry Goodkind is my fav author. I steer clear of best sellers and stuff. I like wizards, dragons and stuff like that. I gotta say though Terry Goodkind's sword of truth series is Awesome and if people who dont usually read that kind of stuff would read it they would like it (its being made into a mini series~ sam raimi is doing it and im totally stoked waiting for it)sorry,,, im channeling Jeff Spicoli.. to those of you who know who im talking about.

I read Lord of the rings when I was young. The whole Tolkien series. That's probably about as dragon and wizards as I got.

Fast times at Ridgemont high I believe. :)

I bought a book called "The Secret".....

Wow.. It is blowing my mind.. Totally changing the way I think. It is an excellent book. It's about the law of attraction and what you bring into your life and that being based on what you make your main thoughts and attracting it and in turn bringing it into your life...

Fabulous read IMO.....

I'm with 3mnkids1 - I like escapist stuff. Just finished Jasper Fforde's "First Among Sequels", the latest Thursday Next novel. Thursday is an agent of Jurisfiction and can travel into books. She's also a secret agent, time traveler, undead hunter, illegal cheese dealer, carpet installer, and devoted wife and mother, among other things. Definitely a wild read.

I just finished James Patterson's "7th Heaven." It's the latest of the Women's Murder Club and it was great!

For you escapists, I'm not a huge fan of Nora Roberts but if you like vampires, witch craft, and the like, you'd enjoy her Circle Trilogy.

Soooo,,,,

Has anyone got around to any GOOD NEW BOOKS they've read?

Anyone pickup that book THE SECRET?

Right now i'm ready "claimed by shadow"...it's about a young clairvoyant and vampires...MMmmmm my favorite type of readings... LOL

For anybody who likes detective/crime novels, I love Michael Connelly as an author. He's got a lot of books out there for anyone looking for a new author. Find his book list and start at the beginning. He writes about one detective mainly (Harry Bosch) but also has other books sprinkled in there about peripheral characters in the detective's life and also a couple others that are totally unrelated. The books are always a good ride. Chelsea Cain is another author I liked. A little gory but good. I'm also a massive Stephen King fan. If you want a loooonnggg adventure, try the gunslinger series. It's a 7-book series that he started writing in the beginning of his career and just finished a few years ago. The 1st book starts off a little slow but then really picks up with the 2nd. Many of his other books also tie in to this series in some way or another. For some fabulous historical fiction Phillipa Gregory is a good bet. Lots of great stuff revolving around the time of Henry VIII and his many wives as well as other subjects. Sigh...this is making me wish I didn't have to work so I could just read all the time. So many books and so little time...
