Auction sites

There are things to sell that are piling up. What's the second largest auction site after eBay? Has anybody been successful selling stuff at alternate sites?

Do they have auctions?

I have so-so luck with them. Sometimes people don't want to show up even though you're giving it away for free.

Smaller items like giftware would benefit from better reach than Craig's List.

I don't know. I just tried them once to sell a Coors Light snowboard locally. Obviously, I didn't get any takers out here on Long Island! :laughing:

I signed up at eBid and will try out my luck. Your link has some outdated info, as Yahoo auctions has been discontinued. The #2 site is debatable, #1 is unquestioned, but I don't care to sell there anymore.

If we go to Vermont, I'll be skiing. I don't do the snowboarding scene! I'm with you on eBay, but I think they're going to start dropping down. Too many problems lately.

Goodwill auctions was a site I discovered a while ago, and it's really interesting, like a thrift shop online. They don't do fancy.

I'm going to try my luck at eBid, and hope for the best. I'll need more patience to sell things, because there's far less traffic than Big Daddy, but I can accept any kind of payment I want, and there's no Paypal arm-twisting. Also, there seems to be more freedom and autonomy for the sellers, and far lower fees.

Sometimes you gotta suck it in and walk.

I loved ebay until all of the changes and of course rising fee's because, I always had decent luck selling there. Now, I don't know if I will again.

I have tried craigs list and all I have gotten was scammers asking about my stuff. I'm checking out other auction sites as well.
