Credit Card?

I Have seen this before and wondered why it would be a requirement if the hotel was paid for. In the Sony Classics.com-Easy Virtue London Sweeps rules prizes section it says "Grand Prize winner or his/her Guest must have/present at least one major credit card in good standing in order to check into hotel." Any thoughts? Thanks.

most hotels require a credit card or cash deposit to pay for incidentals charged to the room. This is usually done at check-in, or over the phone
when the reservations are made.

He is so correct. The credit card makes sure that they are covered for anything that is not included in your stay, plus they also use it as sort of a security deposit to cover any damages or theft to the room of their property.
