Do any of you have experience with Vertigo?

I have been dizzy for the past few days and it feels like I'm being pulled to one side. I sat up in bed the other morning and I got pulled back down....it's very scary. Does this sound like something any of you have experienced?

I never have and don't know anything about Vertigo but, wanted to wish you well and send my thoughts and prayers.

Mom just had an attack of this uncomfortable problem. Luckily the medication the doctor prescribed was effective. You may want to see your physician, if the vertigo is the result of an inner ear infection you may wish to get it treated before it gets worse.

:crazytongue: I have alot of problems with the pressure in my ears, especially at higher altitudes. Everything starts spinning round and round, it's a horrible feeling. It's not near as bad now as it use to be but still gives me problems sometimes. If this has just started it may very well be an ear infection.

When I was a kid I had vertigo all the time.I had it really bad in a car.I would bump it to things all the time.Made me feel like puking. It's not as bad since I'm older now....but now sometimes I be walking and I start going sideways ...like I'm being pulled that way...weird ..but I've never felt it pull me DOWN..THAT'S KINDA SPOOKY..

Yep mtejen - I have twisted tubes - I had TONS of ear infections when I was a kid :nono: :cussing:

Anyway - after flying, I had a really bad attack & the Dr told me to clear my ears, but since my tubes are all twisted, I have to tilt my head around to find just the right spot to get them to clear, and it's a royal PITA!!! :cussing:

Since I started using a neti-pot, I've rarely had vertigo - I swear by it!!! :headbang:

I've never had any problems with it but from what I know it's from ear infections. Good luck and I'll say a prayer that things will be better for you. I would go to the DR. to check it out.

yep. Im deaf in my left ear and when I get a cold and my good ear gets clogged up it really messes me up. I hope you are alright..If this is a new thing for you definitely call your doctor.

LOL Trace - I'm 1/2 deaf in my right ear!!! :crazytongue:

mt,
it could be a couple of things. Ear infection OR have you recently started or stopped taking any medication? Think about that one, it can be a major cause of vertigo. let me know

I did a few years ago - it turned out to be an ear infection actually. You should go see your Doc if it keeps persisting. I am sorry you are experiencing that - it certainly isn't fun!

((hugs))

Thanks guys - you are the best. I know I need to call the dr. It will get better for awhile, and I don't call, then it starts again... I had surgery on Dec. 1st (carpal tunnel) and it started after that, so I don't know.

Thanks for your help!

You stated in another thread that your brain's been 'mush' and you're having trouble spelling. That with the 'being pulled down' and 'pulled to one side', it doesn't sound like Vertigo to me.

Go see your doctor ... asap ... there might be the possibilty that you have suffered a minor stroke. But what do I know??? :crazytongue: (but I bet I'm right)

Talk to somebody that WILL know. :)

PLEASE GO!!!

My husband's first love died of a brain cancer that he pretty much ignored all the symptoms for years. I'm not saying it is that but health issues like this should not be ignored. And while they might 'go away' it might be a stroke or another medical condition.

You need to see a doctor and go quickly.

Did you know that carpal tunnel can be a common symptom of Multiple Myeloma.

DID your doctor test you for this before doing the carpal tunnel surgery????

quote:
"Neurologic symptoms
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common complication of myeloma.
Meningitis (especially that resulting from pneumococcal or meningococcal infection) is more common in patients with multiple myeloma.
Some peripheral neuropathies have been attributed to multiple myeloma."

In light of this, your symptoms are very serious and you should seek medical attention promptly!

Thanks guys...I went to doctor yesterday. I was scared enough that I finally went. I feared all of the things listed below, as this wasn't a "regular" dizziness. It was brutal. I feared stroke, brain tumor and other things.

Good news! I have some seriously impacted/clogged sinuses. I can't believe that's all it is, but I'm soooo relieved! He said he was surprised I didn't feel worse (as far as sneezing, coughing, etc.). The pain behind my right eye was what really scared me the most, but sinuses run all over your head. Also the lack of concentration, "mush" brain was so scary. So he gave me some prescription nose spray and said to try it for a few days and if it doesn't help to come back. So we shall see. I'm still hoping that's all it is.

Thanks for the info on Carpal Tunnel and Multiple Myeloma. My friends dad died from MM. What a horrible disease. I had surgery on my other hand about 8 years ago, and now that hand is so weak - they cut something wrong. Turns out when this different doctor did my other hand, he said the nerve that's supposed to go under the carpal band in my hand actually went up and over the band. He had to delicately move it. I'm an anomaly! So he said the other doctor probably cut right through it...as one of the muscles in that thumb doesn't work. Oh well. I will keep the MM in mind.

Thanks for your concern guys, and I'm glad I don't have any bad news :)

I have tons of sinus and ear problems and they cause a host of symptoms. They are also harder to get rid of now that antibiotics resistance is so high, so make sure to watch for any relapse of symptoms! I hope you get feeling better soon...it is miserable! I just had a sinus infection/double ear infection a few weeks ago!

That's very good news. Make sure you take ALL your medications and get a follow up check up.
