Does anyone know about this laptop?

sounds like a really good deal to me. I love my laptop. I couldnt go back to a desktop. I may look into that myself.

The lowest price on Nextag (price comparison site) was $574.00. We have a Compaq we use when we're away from home travelling.

I would go with
Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804 15.4” Laptop
only because you dont have to mess with the rebate. what a pita those can be.

My friend just returned her Toshiba...she was having trouble with the volume and with the buttons on it. The battery also wouldn't hold power. I don't know the model number, but that was the second one that she had to return. She bought a Dell this last time.

I don't know about Laptop models, but this is my second HP computer and I love it...this is the only ones I would consider right now ~ unless I won one

The batteries on these laptops are crappy but, they are all in all good laptops. I only have power maybe for an hour on my battery at a time which really sucks. I need a new battery. This one is really similar to mine, not sure my # but, it is a satellite series that I purchased in 2005. I really need a new computer though.

my boyfriend does computer building/repairs (etc!) professionally and says that you shouldn't have a computer with Vista on it with less then 2 gig of RAM. He says it will run with 1 but it will be VERY frusterating. I have a laptop with 2 gig of RAM with Vista and it runs very well.

RAM is a very important computer part that is often overlooked. You can buy a fast processor but without more RAM the processor speed doesn't matter.

I really trust him with my computer as does just about everyone else we know!

Oh, forgot to mention that mine does not have Vista. I don't want vista and really sad that windows is going off the market.

Thanks for that information. I would not have known that as I don't have Vista on any of my computers. I don't really need a laptop so I think I will probably wait for awhile. Maybe I will get lucky and win one!

:sunny: I think what she really means is that Microsoft is going to quit distributing the Windows XP. So, if you really prefer XP over Vista and are considering a new computer in the near future, you may want to purchase an extra copy.
