Don't Forget This Tragedy

Wow those photos are horrific but necessary. Both my parents are survivors of the Japanese Concentration Camps - it happened.
 
Yup both my mother was a teen and my father was a captured Royal Dutch Air Force soldier in the Japanese Concentration Camps in Indonesia.

Boy the stories we heard at the dinner table.

My dad is 91 and still alive and feisty!

Thats amazing. Thank you for sharing that. I watch the history channel alot and there was soo much courage and honor back in those days. Heroes among us. :)
 
My dad and his family just barely escaped Rumania in 1939. The relatives who didn't leave, didn't make it. I spend a lot more time on my husband's family tree than on mine. :(
 
There are so many stories behind the monikers at SA. One comment leads to another, and we learn that there is more depth here than we have stopped to think about. Very interesting, and to all who shared, thank you.
