I don't know if you've all heard about this, but it's all over the news. They could contain Melamine....the product from China that's been found in formula and candy and can sicken children...just FYI

Is this any gold coins? My mom sends my kids gold coins made at See's candy in CA. Thank you for the information.

I saw this online last night, seem that it is in just products that come from China. They showed several products from Target in the piece, including Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways coins and Hannah Montana candy. Ashelyn's teachers warned them at school today also ~ so she knew about it before I ever told her!

You're fine with delicious See's (I love their chocolate)
Its only Sherwoods, which is some cheap brand in Canada

The Sherwood Brands chocolate coin warning only applies to Canada, and only to Sherwood Brands Pirate's Gold Milk Chocolate Coins sold in 840-gram containers containing 240 pieces per container with the UPC code 0 36077 11240 7 and the lot code 1928S1. Those chocolates were sold in Canadian Costco stores and various dollar and bulk stores, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

"This was an insolated situation in Canada only. These coins were not sold or shipped into the U.S. market," states a Sherwood Brands news release.

As long as hershey sweepstakes's Bliss is safe, I'm good till next year. :) Avoiding any cheap no name candy is probably a good idea till this is resolved.

I just finished off a small bag of reeses.. yum.. didnt see any coins in the bag. did just spot a kit kat bar though.

Thank you for the additional info. My mom usually sends 2-3 bags of coins at a time and even though they last awhile, I don't want my children eating anything that will harm them.
